Danbooru Tags

The shared tag vocabulary most anime AI models understand — the "dictionary" behind tag-style prompts.

Danbooru tags are a standardized vocabulary for describing anime images — things like 1girl, serafuku, cowboy shot, or cherry blossoms. Because most anime-style AI models learned from images labeled with these tags, using the same vocabulary in your Prompt is like speaking the model's native language.

Why they work so well

A tag like serafuku (sailor school uniform) is precise: the model has seen it thousands of times and knows exactly what it means. A loose phrase like "that Japanese school outfit" is much fuzzier. When your prompts use established tags, results get more predictable.

Commonly used tag categories

  • Subject: 1girl, 1boy, 2girls, chibi, fox girl

  • Actions & poses: sitting, holding, v-sign, looking at viewer, from behind

  • Clothing: dress, kimono, serafuku, hair ribbon

  • Scenes: library, cyberpunk city, onsen, castle

  • Camera angles: close-up, cowboy shot, from above, from below

  • Effects & style: cinematic lighting, sparkle, watercolor, retro style

Tips

  • Turn on Auto-Complete — it suggests valid tags as you type, so you don't need to memorize anything.

  • Popular character names work as tags too, and Auto Complete will suggest their signature features.

  • Browse Danbooru's safe mirror for tag inspiration.

  • Prefer writing full sentences? Use Prompt-Helper and let it translate your words into tags.
