When engaging in diving activities, he ties his hair back and wears a diving suit. Throughout the series, he also demonstrates a knack for disguises, such as posing as the media personality Ikeyoshi Yuuichi or wearing a costume of the anime character Rarako.

Kouhei is a devoted anime enthusiast with a rich fantasy life and a notorious lack of interest in real-world romance. He harbors an intense fanatical devotion to the voice actress Mizuki Kaya, even fainting and coughing up blood upon learning of her marriage. Despite his unusual obsessions and strong desire to be called an older brother, he displays surprising resourcefulness and loyalty when helping his friends.

Background
Active in creating fan works since high school, Kouhei enrolled at Izu University hoping to meet high school girls. Instead, he was tricked by Kitahara Iori into joining the Peek a Boo diving club. Though initially a low-tolerance non-swimmer, he developed an immense alcohol tolerance through the club's initiation and successfully earned his open-water diving license during a summer trip to Okinawa.
Relationships
Kouhei shares a volatile frenemy bond with Kitahara Iori; the two constantly sabotage one another yet display seamless teamwork during crises. He initially acted as a romance strategist for Yoshiwara Aina, but as they spent more time together on club trips, his feelings deepened until he confessed to her after the campus beauty contest. He idolizes the voice actress Mizuki Kaya above all else.
Trivia
In the animated adaptation, multiple voice actors were credited to achieve Kouhei's perfect female voice tricks. Additionally, his live-action actor, Inukai Atsuhiro, is widely recognized in real life as a devoted fan of anime and pop culture.
