Overview
Kouta Sako is a supporting character in the manga and anime series WIND BREAKER. He serves as a member of Shishitoren, a syndicate composed of powerful brawlers. Quiet and difficult to read, Sako generally keeps to himself and avoids unnecessary conflict. However, his shared past with Toma Hiragi drives him to step forward when Shishitoren clashes with Bofurin, forcing him to confront long-held emotional issues.
Appearance
Sako is distinguished by his striking two-tone hair, which is colored yellow and black. He frequently bears a sharp, stern facial expression that makes him look unapproachable. For his outfit, he wears the bright orange jacket that acts as the signature attire of Shishitoren.
Personality
Taciturn and reserved, Sako rarely expresses his inner feelings, often making him seem distant to others. He does not normally seek out individual brawls. Beneath his hardened exterior, he harbors intense devotion toward those he respects. In contrast to his tough image, he has a strong fondness for sweet treats, enjoys visiting cafes by himself, and intensely dislikes black coffee.
Abilities
As a combatant within Shishitoren, Sako possesses formidable hand-to-hand fighting abilities. Though he rarely volunteers for single combat, when driven by intense personal emotion, he adopts a highly aggressive style capable of pushing top-tier opponents like Toma Hiragi to their limits.
Background
Sako spent much of his childhood closely attached to Toma Hiragi, looking up to him immensely. However, an incident led to a bitter estrangement between them. When Shishitoren and Bofurin clashed in a tournament, Sako specifically volunteered to fight Hiragi, finally giving voice to his unresolved feelings and lingering desire to follow his former mentor.
Relationships
Sako shares a long, complex history with Toma Hiragi, combining childhood admiration with a bitter sense of abandonment that culminated in their duel. In addition, he maintains strong respect for Shishitoren leaders Choji Tomiyama and Jo Togame.
Trivia
Despite his intimidating delinquent persona, Sako secretly enjoys visiting cafes alone. He has a notable sweet tooth and strictly avoids bitter black coffee.
