He maintains a warm, protective relationship with Chiikawa and Hachiware, frequently buying them coffee or sharing meals. He acts as a firm elder toward Usagi, keeping Usagi's antics in check. He also shares a close bond with Shisa; Kuri Manjuu serves as a mentor by tutoring Shisa for the alcohol licensing exam, while Shisa has assisted him in retrieving his stolen license.
