Overview
Abigail is a character originating from Capcom's Final Fight series who also appears as a playable fighter in Street Fighter V. Originally serving as a top-ranking executive for the criminal syndicate Mad Gear in Metro City, he later turned over a new leaf to become the president of his own scrap metal and car modification business. Characterized by his superhuman physique, overwhelming raw strength, and volatile temperament, he acts as a formidable heavyweight powerhouse in both franchises.
Appearance
Abigail possesses a colossal frame standing 244 centimeters tall and weighing 265 kilograms, featuring brown eyes and black hair styled in a mohawk that takes the shape of a Canadian maple leaf in Street Fighter V. His face is decorated with dark heavy metal paint. He wears a white sleeveless shirt featuring a black skull pattern, complemented in Street Fighter V by large vehicle tires wrapped around both of his biceps and another tire secured at his waist.
Personality
Abigail is extremely short-tempered and prone to violent tantrums whenever enraged, making him an object of fear among his own workers. Despite his intimidating reputation, he acknowledges his lack of intellect and attempts to improve his brainpower by solving magazine quizzes. He is passionately obsessed with death metal music and heavy machinery, frequently evaluating the strength of others using car terminology such as horsepower, while harboring a strong dislike for rust and small automobiles.
Abilities
Abigail utilizes long reach, heavy striking force, and command throws derived from his massive body. He has the ability to turn his entire skin bright red to boost his offensive capabilities. In combat, he employs defensive moves like Hungabee to absorb incoming strikes with his chest, as well as summoning tires onto the field to hit toward his opponent. His repertoire includes heavily armored rushing attacks such as Metro Crash, which can become unblockable when fully charged.
Background
Hailing from Canada, Abigail originally served as a key official for the Mad Gear gang, overseeing operations in the Metro City Bay Area. Following the organization's defeat, he established an automotive overhaul and salvage shop named Abigail Scrap Metal. Retaining several former gang members as his crew, he continues his life in Metro City, occasionally starting chaotic street fights over minor misunderstandings, such as misplacing his own custom vehicle.
Relationships
During his gang tenure, Abigail served under Mad Gear leader Horace Belger. After founding his business, he hired former gang associates Roxy, Axl, and J as his company employees. He maintains a hostile relationship with former Mayor Mike Haggar and current Mayor Cody Travers, the latter of whom thrashed him over parking infractions. In Street Fighter V, his frantic search for his car leads to physical clashes with fighters such as Zangief, Ibuki, and Han Juri.
Trivia
In the original Arcade release of Final Fight, Abigail shared his character graphics with the generic enemy character Andore due to hardware memory limits. When announced as downloadable content for Street Fighter V at EVO 2017, his initial reveal met lukewarm fan reception, though his unique high-damage playstyle later won over many competitive players. Fitting his canonical passion for death metal, his official fighting stage theme is composed in a heavy metal music style.
