He is the father of the protagonist, Hanma Baki, and is widely feared across the globe by politicians, militaries, and martial artists alike under titles such as The Strongest Creature on Earth and The Ogre. Capable of overpowering entire armies with his bare hands, he stands as an absolute, supreme wall in the series.
Appearance
Yujiro is a tall, heavily muscular man with dark, glowing skin and a wild mane of slicked-back red hair. His defining physical trait is the grotesque structure of his back muscles, which contort into the shape of a demon's face when fully exerted. He typically dresses in simple black attire consisting of a short-sleeved kung fu shirt, black pants, and kung fu shoes.
Personality
Driven by intense egoism and an absolute faith in his own power, Yujiro acts with utter disregard for societal rules, enforcing his will through sheer force. He views martial arts techniques, affection, and comradeship in battle as impurities, relying instead on raw physical dominance. Despite his violent nature, he possesses high intelligence, speaks multiple languages, understands fine dining etiquette, and displays sharp conversational wit. Over time, his demeanor has mellowed slightly, occasionally showing a complex, stern consideration toward others.
Abilities
Yujiro possesses unmatched physical power, capable of crushing armored vehicles, smashing reinforced doors, and defeating massive wildlife or elite military forces unarmed. His durability allows him to withstand extreme trauma, lethal doses of tranquilizers, and direct lightning strikes. Beyond his brute strength, he has the innate ability to instantly understand and copy complex martial techniques, as well as a visual perception that detects any physical flaw, injury, or disease in an opponent.
Background
Born with terrifying presence, Yujiro spent his youth as a mercenary on global battlefields, single-handedly defeating elite military units during the Vietnam War era. During his travels, he fathered Jack Hammer and later Hanma Baki with Emi Akezawa. He subjected Baki to brutal training from a young age to forge a worthy opponent, establishing a deep tragic rivalry after killing Emi when she intervened to protect their son.
Relationships
He is the father and ultimate target of Hanma Baki, and also the father of Jack Hammer. He maintains a long-standing relationship with Strydum, whom he met during his mercenary days. Though he has brutally fought legendary figures such as Doppo Orochi, Kaku Kaioh, and Miyamoto Musashi, he occasionally shares drinks and mutual respect with them outside of combat.
Trivia
Due to his unstoppable prowess, newly elected Presidents of the United States are forced to swear an individual peace and friendship treaty to him upon taking office. His culinary preferences include salted salmon inner organs known as mefun, and he uniquely enjoys pairing high-end liquor with cheap candy.
