Appearance
Orochi Doppo is a muscular man with a shaved, bald head. Scars from past battles mark the area around his left eye and his right cheek. After losing his right eye in a duel against Hanma Yujiro, he wears an eyepatch over it. In combat, he wears a traditional karate gi, though he has also fought wearing business suits and tuxedos.
Personality
Orochi Doppo has a boisterous, traditional Tokyoite temperament, frequently displaying a playful and humorous side that endears him to his disciples. Although his relaxed demeanor sometimes irks acquaintances, he remains unfazed. In combat, he is a pragmatic realist who considers surprise attacks and deception fair game, yet he strictly adheres to the principle of using only his body as a weapon. At home, he shows a deeply affectionate side toward his wife.
Abilities
Through decades of performing basic kata one thousand times daily, Orochi Doppo has rendered his limbs as lethal as blades. His repertoire includes the Bosatsu no Ken—an unblockable strike devoid of killing intent—alongside techniques to dislocate joints, target pressure points, and tear away flesh and bone. Defensively, he utilizes Kotsukake to retract his testicles into his abdomen, Mawashi Uke to parry any attack, Sangan to move his eyes independently, and Sanchin breathing to endure heavy impacts.
Background
Having practiced karate from a young age, Orochi Doppo secured his legendary status by killing a famished tiger single-handedly on a deserted island. As an underground arena fighter, he engaged in a lethal rematch with Hanma Yujiro, surviving heart failure and the loss of his right eye. He has continued to fight at the pinnacle of martial arts, participating in the Maximum Tournament, facing escaped convicts like Dorian, confronting the cloned Miyamoto Musashi, and dueling grand sumo wrestlers.
Relationships
Orochi Doppo enjoys a close marriage with his wife, Orochi Natsue. He adopted Orochi Katsumi during childhood, raising him into a successful karate successor, and commands absolute devotion from disciples like Katou Kiyosumi and Suedou Atsushi. Despite losing his eye to Hanma Yujiro, the two maintain a mutual respect as drinking companions, and he shares strong bonds of rivalry and admiration with Hanma Baki, Shibukawa Goki, and Motobe Izo.
Trivia

His favorite pastime is watching classic Western films, particularly those starring John Wayne featuring dramatic fistfights. His intense reaction during his confrontation with Miyamoto Musashi became a widely recognized internet meme among series fans.
