Isayama Mami is a supporting character in the anime film Cho Kaguya-Hime!. A close friend of Sakayori Iroha and Ayatsumugi Roka, she is a reliable high school student who operates as the popular gourmet influencer Mamimami within the virtual realm Tsukuyomi. Alongside her friends, she assists Kaguya with her streaming endeavors while maintaining a passion for food and competitive gaming.

In the virtual platform Tsukuyomi, her avatar is designed around a flying squirrel motif, featuring a brown poncho. Her outfit is adorned across various parts with detachable accessories shaped like food items, including onigiri and melonpan. In scenes depicting her ten years later, she wears a ring on the ring finger of her left hand.

Personality

Mami possesses a dependable personality complemented by an easygoing attitude that allows her to act at her own pace. She is characterized by a large appetite, famously consuming three servings of instant yakisoba while visiting the beach. Additionally, she exhibits a dedicated fan side, holding a passionate fandom for Mikado Akira, a member of the professional gaming group Black Onyx.

Within the virtual world Tsukuyomi, she demonstrates influential reach as the gourmet content creator Mamimami, boasting approximately 120,000 followers around the time of the Yachiyo Cup. In the KASSEN battle system, she fights using a spear-like polearm that merges a giant fork and spoon. She employs versatile combat techniques with this weapon, using it for standard swings, impaling items like a massive candy apple onto the tip to hurl at opponents, or leveraging it as a pole-vaulting aid for physical maneuvers.

Background

Mami grew up alongside her high school friends Sakayori Iroha and Ayatsumugi Roka. When Kaguya began streaming within Tsukuyomi, Mami partnered with Roka to support Kaguya's activities. In the epilogue set ten years later and detailed in the novelization, Mami married her boyfriend whom she had been dating since high school, becoming the mother of twins. She is the only character in the work explicitly confirmed to be married in the future.

Relationships

Sakayori Iroha and Ayatsumugi Roka are Mami's closest friends with whom she regularly spends time. She supports Kaguya during her virtual streaming, although Kaguya once plucked food decorations like melonpan from Mami's avatar to use them. She also holds a dedicated admiration for Mikado Akira, a professional gamer from Black Onyx, and later marries her high school partner with whom she raises twins.

Trivia

A memorable scene in the story occurs when Kaguya plucks the melonpan accessory directly off Mami's avatar—an incident expanded in the novelization to include her onigiri accessory as well.
