Outpainting
Extend your image beyond its borders — reveal more outfit, more background, or make room for another character.
Outpainting expands your image beyond its original edges. Want to reveal the rest of a character's outfit, widen a scene, or add space for a second character? Stretch the canvas and the AI fills the new area so it blends seamlessly with the original.
On PixAI
In the Edit panel, click Outpaint mode, then drag the edges of the box to extend the picture in any direction. Describe what should appear in the new space (e.g. "black dress" when extending a portrait downward) and generate.
Tips
One edge at a time gives you much better control than expanding all sides at once.
Think "what would logically be here?" — the more natural your description of the new area, the more seamless the blend.
Not compatible with XL models — outpaint with a regular model.
Switching between Outpaint and Inpaint discards unsaved changes.
