Overview
Pairin is a character from The Apothecary Diaries. She is the oldest of the Three Princesses, the three top-ranking courtesans at the high-class brothel Rokushoukan, and is celebrated as one of the capital's premier dancers.
Appearance
Despite being in her thirties, Pairin has a youthful, radiant complexion and the most curvaceous figure among the Three Princesses. She wears luxurious garments draped loosely to give off an alluring atmosphere. Visual depictions portray her with purple hair styled in an updo, adorned with hair ornaments, flowers, and hair rings, as well as distinct eyelashes, eyeshadow, lipstick, a facial mark, visible collarbones, and eyes depicted as yellow or purple.
Personality
Pairin is a free-spirited romantic who dreams of a prince on a white horse, holding a strong preference for muscular men. Highly lustful, she pursues her physical desires openly. Despite her carnivorous romantic streak, she is genuinely good-natured and possesses a deeply caring, maternal side.
Abilities
Pairin is exceptionally skilled in dance, recognized as one of the best in the capital, and is adept in the bedroom. She is illiterate, having never taken to academic study, but excels in physically driven arts. Additionally, she possesses a unique physical trait where she can produce breast milk despite never having given birth.
Background
Alongside the other top courtesans of Rokushoukan, Pairin helped raise Maomao during her childhood. Having produced breast milk, she directly nursed Maomao as an infant, playing a pivotal role in her early upbringing while maintaining her status as one of the brothel's premier courtesans.
Relationships
Pairin acted as a surrogate mother to Maomao by nursing her during infancy. The brawny military officer Lihaku becomes a dedicated patron heavily smitten with her. In contrast, her intense advances toward the serious Basen caused him to flee, leaving him thoroughly traumatized. The madam of Rokushoukan frequently has to manage Pairin's aggressive amorous urges.
Trivia
Unlike many of the prominent courtesans at Rokushoukan who are well-educated in various arts and letters, Pairin stands out for being entirely illiterate.
