Prompt Emphasis

Use ( ) to strengthen a tag and [ ] to weaken it — a volume knob for parts of your prompt.

Prompt emphasis (also called prompt weighting) lets you turn the "volume" up or down on individual parts of your Prompt:

  • Parentheses ( ) strengthen a tag: (cloud) makes clouds more prominent. Stack them for more effect: ((cloud)).

  • Square brackets [ ] weaken a tag: [cloud] makes clouds subtler.

Example

> 1boy, short hair, school uniform, standing, balcony, (cloud), cinematic lighting

gives you a dramatic cloudy sky, while the same prompt with [cloud] pushes the clouds into the background.

Tips

  • Position is emphasis too. Tags at the front of your prompt already carry more weight than tags at the end — often just reordering is enough.

  • Don't overdo it. Piling up (((((tags))))) can distort the image. One or two layers is usually plenty.

  • Numeric weights are unreliable on PixAI. Formats like (tag:1.4) from other tools don't always produce stable results with PixAI's models — stick to brackets.

  • Emphasis matters less on DiT models like Tsubaki and Serin, which respond better to descriptive natural-language sentences.
