Trigger Words
The activation keys that appear in your prompt when you load a LoRA — and yes, you can customize them.
When you load a LoRA, some text automatically appears in your prompt box. Those are trigger words — the activation keys that tell the AI to apply what the LoRA learned. A character LoRA's triggers typically describe the character's signature features (hair, outfit, accessories); a style LoRA's triggers name the artistic technique.
The fun part: customize them
You're not locked into the defaults. Say your character LoRA defaults to a white dress:
Remove the outfit triggers (
white dress, long sleeves, jacket)Replace them with what you want (
kimono, floral pattern)Keep the identity triggers (face, hair, eye color)
The character stays recognizably themselves — well-trained character LoRAs anchor identity in facial features — while wearing whatever you dressed them in.
Tips
Check the LoRA's description page for the creator's official trigger recommendations.
Change one trigger at a time so you can see what each one controls.
Setting triggers for your own LoRA? Use
character_name, source_work, other_attributesfor characters (e.g.hatsune_miku, vocaloid), or a short style tag likeink_wash_stylefor styles. Keep them concise — and choose carefully, because trigger words can't be changed after training. See LoRA-Training.
