Chloe Aubert

Overview

Chloe Aubert is a character from the light novel series That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and its derivative media. Originally residing at an academy in the Kingdom of Ingrassia as an incomplete summoned child at risk of body collapse from excess magicules, she is saved by Rimuru Tempest and relocates to the Tempest Federation. In truth, she is the legendary Hero Chronoa, the one who sealed the Storm Dragon Veldora long ago, and shares a past with Demon Lord Leon Cromwell having arrived from another world together.

Appearance

Chloe appears in both a young child form and an adult Hero form. As a child, she is a beautiful girl with black-silver hair who is constantly seen holding a book. Visual attributes include black, blue, or white hair styled in options such as short hair, a ponytail, or a side ponytail, alongside blue, red, or black eyes. Her attire consists of a blue coat, a cape, dresses, and long sleeves with fur trim, complemented by jewelry including a necklace and pendant. On her legs and feet, she wears black pantyhose alongside brown footwear or boots. She also possesses the original Anti-Magic Mask passed down through Shizu.

Personality

Chloe generally has a quiet, reserved, and mild-mannered personality. However, she displays an open and affectionate side toward her savior, Rimuru Tempest, addressing him warmly as her teacher. She places great value on cooperation and working together with her companions, though she also exhibits a childlike competitiveness with her friend Alice when it comes to getting Rimuru's attention.

Abilities

Chloe can manipulate water using high-pressure force and possesses an immense volume of magicules comparable to a high-tier spirit. She initially holds the Unique Skill Time Traveler, allowing jumps to the past while retaining memories, alongside Absolute Severance and Unlimited Imprisonment. These abilities unify into the Ultimate Skill Yog-Sothoth (Lord of Space-Time), granting authority over time including time travel, time stop, and memory replay. She also acquires Sariel (Lord of Hope) and eventually reaches Yog-Sothoth (God of Space-Time). Internally, she harbors a conscious Manas named Chronoa.

Background

Centuries ago, Chloe crossed the dimensional rift from another world alongside her childhood friend Leon, only to be summoned alone 200 years further into the future. Facing a life-threatening collapse due to uncontrolled magicules from an incomplete summoning, she was rescued by Rimuru. Triggered by Hinata Sakaguchi's death, her time travel ability sent her 2,000 years into the past, trapping her in a repeating temporal loop. Operating under the alias Chronoa in past eras, she established a bond with Luminous and sealed Veldora. She was eventually freed from this loop through Rimuru's intervention.

Relationships

Leon Cromwell is her childhood friend who originally traveled with her from another world. Shizue Izawa and Rimuru Tempest served as her teachers, with Chloe holding a profound affection for Rimuru. Hinata Sakaguchi acts as a vital partner who traverses time alongside her, while Luminous Valentine became a deeply cherished friend through events in the past.

Trivia

The Anti-Magic Mask passed between Chloe, Shizu, and Rimuru creates a causal loop as it travels into the past, serving as a prominent time paradox within the story.
