CFG Scale
How strictly the AI follows your prompt — lower is more creative, higher is more literal.
CFG Scale is the "obedience dial" in Advanced settings: it controls how strictly the AI follows your Prompt (and Negative-Prompt). Low values give the AI creative freedom; high values force it to stick to your words.
Recommended values on PixAI
Default 5 — balanced. Best for most work: the AI follows your vision while adding appealing interpretation of its own. When in doubt, stay here.
Low (3–4) — creative exploration. You have a general idea and want the AI to surprise you. Low CFG also tends toward softer, more painterly images.
High (7–8) — strict adherence. For very specific character details that must be exact, like commissions or recreating an existing design.
The catch
Higher is not better! CFG above 8 often produces over-processed, unnatural-looking results — harsh colors and weird artifacts. PixAI recommends keeping it at 7 or below, and if you do push CFG high, raise the Sampling-Steps too so the AI has time to handle the stricter guidance cleanly.
