Denoising Strength
How much freedom the AI has to change your base image — low keeps it faithful, high reimagines it.
Denoising strength appears whenever the AI works from an existing image — Img2img, Inpainting, and the Image Enhance tool. It controls how much the AI is allowed to change: at low values the result stays close to your original; at high values the AI redraws more freely.
Think of it as a "faithfulness ↔ creativity" slider:
Low (0.2–0.4) — subtle cleanup. Keeps the original composition, colors, and identity almost untouched.
Medium (0.4–0.6) — the sweet spot for natural-looking results. PixAI recommends this range for Image Enhance.
High (0.7+) — big changes. The AI treats your image as loose inspiration and may alter faces, poses, and details significantly.
Tips
Enhancing a portrait you already love? Stay near 0.4 so the character stays them.
Using a rough sketch as a base and want the AI to do the heavy lifting? Go higher.
Pair with denoising steps in Image Enhance — more steps means finer detail in whatever the AI redraws.
