Haiba Arisa

Overview

Haiba Arisa is a supporting character in the sports manga and anime series Haikyu!!. She is the nineteen-year-old elder sister of Haiba Lev, a middle blocker for the Nekoma High School volleyball team. Born to Japanese and Russian parents, she is characterized by her striking beauty and impressive physique. Arisa frequently attends official tournaments to passionately cheer for her brother's team alongside other supporters, and she eventually pursues a career as a professional fashion model in tandem with Lev in her adult life.

Appearance

Arisa is a half-Japanese, half-Russian woman standing at 178.5 cm tall and weighing 56.5 kg with an outstanding figure. She has chest-length, slightly wavy grayish-blonde hair, broad eyebrows, and blue-aqua eyes. Her depicted outfit includes a sleeveless black shirt paired with a white skirt, accented by earrings, jewelry, and yellow nail polish.

Personality

Arisa exhibits a deeply affectionate nature toward her younger brother Lev, addressing him with the loving diminutive "Lyovochka" and earnestly worrying that his good looks will make him overly popular with girls. She is enthusiastic and bright during matches, though she demonstrates humility by bowing apologetically to nearby spectators whenever Lev makes an error. Her refined upbringing is evident in her polished demeanor, such as gracefully covering her mouth when a powerful ball flies toward the spectator stands.

Abilities

Regarding volleyball, Arisa understands the sport's basic rules, though she lacks the insight to read complex on-court tactics and play exchanges during matches. However, utilizing her remarkable height and stunning visual appeal, she possesses the professional capacity and poise required to work successfully as a commercial and fashion model alongside her brother in her adulthood.

Background

Introduced in Chapter 191 as a nineteen-year-old, Arisa first appears attending various high school volleyball tournaments—such as the Tokyo qualifiers and the Spring High National Tournament—to support Nekoma High School from the spectator stands. In her adult years around 2021, she leverages her exceptional height and aesthetics to build a career in the fashion industry, working professionally as a model alongside Lev.

Relationships

Arisa shares a close bond with her younger brother, Haiba Lev, whom she continuously encourages and dotes upon. Morisuke Yaku of Nekoma High School openly admires her exceptional beauty. At volleyball venues, she collaborates with Yamamoto Akane to lead cheers for the team. In her adult career as a model, she develops a friendly relationship with Kageyama Miwa, the older sister of Kageyama Tobio.

Trivia

Her favorite food is sea urchin sushi. The unique affectionate nickname "Lyovochka" that she uses for Lev derives from Russian naming conventions, which combine the base name Lev with the diminutive suffix "-chka" used to express endearment.
