Background
Born into a family associated with a pharmaceutical business, Aguri became a teacher after graduating from university. Forced into an arranged engagement with Yanagisawa Kotarou, she was tasked with monitoring the original God of Death in a secret research facility. Over time, she formed a profound emotional bond with him. During a catastrophic lab incident, she stepped in to save him from an activated tentacle mine and was fatally wounded at age 25. Before passing away, she asked him to take over her role as teacher for Class 3-E.
Relationships
She is the older sister of Yukimura Akari, who later assumes the name Kayano Kaede. Her fiancé, Yanagisawa Kotarou, mistreated her during their relationship. She earned the respect of Class 3-E students—including Akabane Karma—as well as Board Chairman Asano Gakuho, who recognized her potential as a teacher.
Trivia
Her name is believed to be derived from Aguri, the wife of Asano Naganori from the Akoh Roshi historical accounts.
