Kamishiro Rui

Overview

Kamishiro Rui is a main character in Project Sekai: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku. Attending Kamiyama High School, he serves as both the director and an actor for the musical show group Wonderlands x Showtime, performing primarily at Phoenix Wonder Stage. Recognized as an eccentric genius director, he crafts unforgettable theatrical performances using his extraordinary imagination and inventive technical skills to bring joy and smiles to audiences.

Appearance

Rui has short, flicked-out purple hair featuring two distinct aqua-blue streaks and double-parted bangs hanging between his eyes. He possesses yellow eyes accented with red eyeliner at the outer corners, and wears an earring. His costume evolved from a multicolored, circus-style coat to a different outfit that buttons up the front. During his middle school years, his hair was tied back in a more disheveled fashion while wearing his school uniform loosely.

Personality

Rui is generally gentle, calm, and speaks with a polished, polite, and slightly theatrical tone. Despite his soft-spoken demeanor, his boundless passion for stagecraft and unorthodox theatrical concepts often lead others to view him as an eccentric genius. Though he follows his own pace and focuses heavily on his artistic pursuits, he is sharp-witted, highly observant of others' feelings, and acts with strong moral principles and genuine care for his companions.

Abilities

Rui excels at mechanics, invention, and crafting high-tech devices. His engineering capabilities go far beyond amateur tinkering, allowing him to design, repair, and build custom robots and autonomous drones specifically tailored for stage performances. Additionally, he possesses exceptional narrative creativity, show direction talents, and skills in balloon artistry.

Background

Inspired by a stage show in his childhood, Rui decided to pursue a dream of becoming a show director. However, his ambitious and unconventional ideas alienated his peers, leaving him to perform solo street shows for a long period. After transferring to Kamiyama High School, he met Tenma Tsukasa and joined Wonderlands x Showtime, finally finding a place and cherished companions who genuinely accept his creative vision.

Relationships

Kusanagi Nene is Rui's next-door neighbor and childhood friend, sharing his stage dreams since youth. Tenma Tsukasa invited him into the group, and despite their contrasting personalities, they form a strong bond as lead actors and directors, earning the duo nickname 'Weirdo One-Two' at school. He deeply values Otori Emu and his entire unit. He also shares a special friendship with Akiyama Mizuki, whom he befriended on the school roof through a mutual understanding of loneliness.

Trivia

Rui has an extreme aversion to all vegetables, disliking them to the point of not wanting them in his line of sight, whereas he greatly enjoys ramune candy. While he typically refers to himself with the modest pronoun 'boku', he has uniquely switched to 'ore' when intensely angered on behalf of his friends. At school, he is a member of the greenery committee.
