Kusanagi Nene

Overview

Kusanagi Nene is a main character in Project Sekai: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku and a member of the musical troupe Wonderlands x Showtime. Attending Kamiyama High School, she dreams of becoming a world-class musical actress. Despite possessing exceptional vocal talent far beyond the level of a typical high schooler, her severe social anxiety initially led her to avoid the stage, instead operating a proxy robot named Nenerobo to perform in her place.

Appearance

She has waist-length, grayish-green long hair styled with low-tied sidelocks, accompanied by sleepy purple eyes. Her unit attire is designed around pastel green and yellow tones. Her initial stage costume consists of a sleeveless frilled dress, fluffy knee-high boots, and a headband decorated with a butterfly motif.

Personality

Extremely shy and socially anxious, Nene finds it hard to converse with strangers and dislikes crowded areas. Surrounded by eccentric troupe members, she frequently serves as the voice of reason. Though she speaks with a biting, blunt tongue toward those she trusts regardless of their age, this demonstrates her sense of intimacy. She takes her singing capabilities seriously and works diligently to refine them.

Abilities

She possesses a extraordinary singing voice that exceeds high school standards, often leading performance productions. Her skill in video games is exceptional, particularly in competitive fighting games, taking first place in a school tournament. Leveraging her precise dexterity and machine operating talents, she can remotely control the humanoid robot Nenerobo to act on stage on her behalf.

Background

Inspired by a mermaid musical in her youth, Nene resolved to become a singer, bonding with her neighbor Kamishiro Rui who was drawn to stage production. In middle school, she joined a theatrical troupe and earned a lead role, but froze up and forgot her lines during a premiere. Traumatized by ruining the performance, she quit the group and stopped singing until Rui invited her to join Wonderlands x Showtime, aiding her return through Nenerobo.

Relationships

Kamishiro Rui is her childhood neighbor and trusted confidant who created Nenerobo for her. While often exasperated by Tenma Tsukasa, she acknowledges his capability and leadership. She shares a close, supportive friendship with Otori Emu. Outside her troupe, she connects with Hoshino Ichika over singing, and progressively builds friendships with Kamiyama High School peers such as Aoyagi Toya, Shinonome Akito, and Shiraishi An.

Trivia

Her favorite food is grapefruit, while she dislikes anything with a mint flavor. At school, she belongs to the Film Club and joins the Library Committee in her second year. Her high proficiency in competitive fighting games correlates directly with her mechanical aptitude and controller handling.
