Appearance

He bears the kanji character for rice ("米") on his forehead and star-shaped emblems on both shoulders. In the original manga colorization, he features silver hair, silver shoulder stars, and a red attire motif. The classic animated adaptation depicts him with blonde hair, blue eyes, and blue trunks, gloves, boots, and kneepads. Following a gunshot injury inflicted by Kinkotsuman, his left leg is fitted with a prosthesis, and he is frequently depicted wearing bandages, plain plasters, or using crutches. He has also donned the mask of the second Kinnikuman Great.

Personality

He is a compassionate and fiercely principled righteous warrior who frequently sacrifices his own safety to protect others and preserve his comrades' honor. Although initially depicted as a money-driven figure who looked down on others, a pivotal encounter with Kinnikuman reformed his outlook into that of a selfless hero. He possesses an extensive, encyclopedic memory regarding wrestling techniques and lore, often serving as an analytical commentator during matches. He loves thick hamburgers and strongly dislikes cold weather.

Abilities

His combat capability relies on authentic pro-wrestling maneuvers elevated by an indomitable fighting spirit. His signature moves include the Spinning Toe Hold, the Texas Clover Hold, a relentless punch sequence known as the Knuckle Part, the Texas Condor Kick, the Brainbuster, and the devastating Calf Branding. In early depictions, he also demonstrated a long-range marksmanship ability using a scaled-up revolver.

Background

Hailing from a prominent wrestling family in Texas, he originally encountered Kinnikuman after being stationed in Japan by the Chojin Council. Though initially at odds, the two formed an unbreakable bond, going on to conquer major tag tournaments and battle various threats including Devil Chojin and Perfect Chojin. Over the years, his iconic prosthetic leg underwent several custom modifications by specialists to withstand intense combat. In later years, he retired to his Texas ranch to raise his son, Terry the Kid.

Relationships

Kinnikuman is his closest rival and trusted partner in "The Machineguns." He shares a fierce competitive rivalry with Ashuraman across multiple matches, and teamed with Geronimo as the "New Machineguns." Prince Kamehame saved his life and passed down the mask of Kinnikuman Great to him. He eventually marries Natsuko Shono, with whom he has a son named Terry the Kid. He also earned the deep respect of the Perfect Origin Justiceman during a gruelling duel.

Trivia

The character's physical design and core wrestling movepool were modeled after real-life professional wrestler Terry Funk. Additionally, certain character elements, such as his weakness related to stars, drew subtle inspiration from the character Dorompa from Obake no Q-taro. His habit of detailing technical knowledge during commentary earned him the nickname "Terripedia" among fans.
