Overview

Warsman is a Soviet Robo-Chojin from the manga and anime series Kinnikuman. Possessing a body that is half-organic and half-mechanical, he earned the monikers Fighting Computer and Black Devil for his ability to instantly calculate and counter his opponents' movements. Trained under Robin Mask to be a cold and ruthless Zangyaku Chojin, he initially terrorized the ring. However, after his legendary bout against Kinnikuman, he reformed and became one of the most prominent members of the Seigi Chojin, fighting loyally alongside his comrades.

Appearance

Warsman wears a black helmet and an emotionless black mask. Facing formidable foes causes his mask's lower section to open into the Warsman Smile. Beneath the mask, his true face features exposed mechanical components, a single central eye, and natural hair. During his youth, he hid his face under a gunny sack. His fists incorporate retractable iron claws known as Bear Claws, which can be detached or equipped on both hands simultaneously. His body exhibits dark skin tones with mechanical accents, decorated with red and yellow highlights in animated adaptations.

Personality

On the surface, Warsman is quiet and taciturn, but beneath his cold exterior lies a deeply compassionate heart and an unshakeable sense of justice. He is fiercely self-sacrificing, never hesitating to place himself in harm's way to protect his friends. In the ring, he fights with absolute precision and merciless detachment, executing attacks without hesitation while maintaining strict respect for the sport. Though once burdened by severe self-consciousness over his robotic origin and facial appearance, his bond with fellow wrestlers helped him develop immense emotional fortitude.

Abilities

Warsman operates with mechanical computation, evaluating an opponent's physical cues to anticipate every move. His signature submission hold, the Palo Special, locks the target's limbs from behind into an inescapable hold. He also employs the Screwdriver, a spinning thrust utilizing his Bear Claws, the Wars Leg Breaker to hyperextend hip joints, and the Claw Wall for defensive blocking. His primary combat weakness is an internal processing limit: engaging in high-intensity battle beyond thirty minutes causes his internal systems to overheat and short-circuit.

Background

Born Nikolai Volkoff, he is a natural-born Robo-Chojin, the offspring of a human mother named Natasha and a cyborg father named Mikhailman. Ostracized during his upbringing due to his unusual body, he was placed into a Soviet state facility to be developed as a living weapon. After discovering the truth and escaping the organization, he was discovered by Robin Mask, who adopted the alias Barracuda and trained him into a lethal fighter designed to defeat Kinnikuman. Following his fateful match at the Chojin Olympics, he broke free from his handler's control and embraced his calling as a protector of justice.

Relationships

Warsman shares an enduring bond with Robin Mask, who originally trained him as Barracuda; their relationship evolved from master and pupil into equal allies. His rivalry with Kinnikuman reached its peak during the finals of the 21st Chojin Olympics, after which the two became lifelong friends. He maintains strong respect for opponents he has faced in the ring, including Ramenman, whom he severely injured in his brutal past, and Polarman, against whom he proved his spiritual growth in later battles.

Trivia

Warsman is widely recognized by his iconic, mechanical breathing sound. Official profile details list playing the balalaika as his hobby and borscht as his favorite food. The distinct expression known as the Warsman Smile was visually inspired by a fan-submitted design character named Smileman during a reader submission contest.
