Overview
Kinro is a character from Dr. Stone who initially serves as a guard for Ishigami Village alongside his younger brother, Ginro. Descended from the astronauts who survived the petrification event thousands of years prior, he becomes a key physical combatant for the Kingdom of Science. Known for his intense dedication to duty and strict adherence to rules, he is initially skeptical of Senku, but develops deep trust in him after Senku provides him with modern tools and becomes the village leader.
Appearance
Kinro has short brown hair with a prominent long fringe and green eyes. He possesses a muscular physique and wears a short-sleeved outfit. Because he suffers from severe myopia, he initially squints intensely to see, giving him a harsh facial expression until Senku equips him with custom eyeglasses. In battle, he wields a long spear featuring a golden finish.
Personality
Rigidly disciplined and highly responsible, Kinro lives by the mindset that regulations must be strictly obeyed. He takes his guard duties seriously and exhibits a brave, self-sacrificing nature when his village or allies are threatened. Though often exasperated by his younger brother's cowardice and laziness, he cares for him deeply and takes pride in his growth.
Abilities
Kinro is an exceptionally skilled spear fighter whose technical mastery is comparable to the village's strongest warriors. His combat performance was originally limited by his severe nearsightedness, but gaining corrective glasses unlocks his full potential. Unlike his brother, he has also dedicated time to becoming literate.
Background
Born and raised in Ishigami Village, Kinro worked continuously as a gatekeeper alongside Ginro. After encountering Senku, he was drawn into the efforts to rebuild civilization. He participates in the village tournament and stands on the front lines during clashes against the Tsukasa Empire, later joining expeditions abroad to the Treasure Island and North America.
Relationships
He is the elder brother of Ginro, whom he constantly scolds yet deeply protects. He accepts Senku Ishigami as his leader, obeying his commands as the official village rule. He maintains strong bonds with fellow village members including Kohaku, Chrome, and Suika, and faces opponents like Magma and Hyoga during major conflicts.
Trivia
His name is derived from gold, referencing element number 79 on the periodic table, pairing him conceptually with his younger brother Ginro, whose name references silver.
