Overview
Lance Crown is a main character in the series Mashle: Magic and Muscles. He is a first-year male student in the Adler House at Easton Magic Academy. Possessing exceptional magic power and top-tier academic intellect, he placed first in the competitive transfer examination. Although portrayed as a remarkably handsome elite youth, he balances his cool demeanor with a deeply caring nature and an absolute, extreme devotion to his younger sister.
Appearance
Lance is an exceptionally handsome young man with short, light blue-tinted silver hair and blue eyes. He has two vertical marks on his right cheek, a trait said to appear in only one out of a hundred thousand people. He sports a planet-shaped earring on his left ear and wears a pendant containing a photo of his younger sister around his neck. His attire consists of a white collared shirt, a red necktie, and a long-sleeved black robe. He is also known to wear casual shirts printed with his sister's likeness.
Personality
Lance operates with a cool, collected, and highly capable mindset, meticulously maintaining his daily life through routine chores like cleaning and cooking. Despite his aloof front, he possesses a protective, motherly streak toward his friends. His defining quirk is a relentless obsession with his younger sister, whom he considers the most precious entity in existence, often causing him to act absurdly whenever she is involved. Contrasting his reliable, cool image, he harbors a severe fear of insects and ghosts.
Abilities
Lance masters Graviol, a unique gravity magic inherited through his noble lineage. He can exert crushing downward force, adjust gravity vectors for telekinetic manipulation, or concentrate high pressure with Section Graviol. His advanced techniques include Graviol Seconds: Torture Pole, which summons four massive pillars that tear targets apart with opposing gravitational forces, and Summons: Nemesis, which generates multiple spheres of immense attractive force. He channels his magic through an ancestral wand crafted from magnolia wood.
Background
Born into the prestigious Crown family, Lance severed all ties with his parents after they abandoned his sister, Anna Crown, who caught an incurable illness that causes magic to fade. To save her from being discarded under national law, Lance left home to attend Easton Magic Academy with the goal of becoming a Divine Visionary to rewrite the legal system. Though he initially challenged Mash Burnedead to a duel over magic coins, Mash's unconventional power and genuine nature earned Lance's respect, turning him into a steadfast ally.
Relationships
His central motivation revolves around his sister, Anna Crown, whom he treasures above all else. Initially a rival to Mash Burnedead, Lance became one of his closest companions after recognizing Mash's strength and principles. He regularly interacts with dormmates Finn Ames and Dot Barrett; the latter frequently targets Lance with insults like 'pierced ears' due to his accessories, though the two maintain a reliable comradeship in battle.
Trivia
His birthday is February 3. He spends his free time cleaning his room and frequently visits the school workshop to craft homemade merchandise of his younger sister. His favorite food is mackerel simmered in miso. The original author ranked him as the most handsome character in the series.
