Sheva Alomar

Overview

Sheva Alomar is one of the main protagonists in Resident Evil 5, serving as an agent for the West African branch of the Special Operations Security Alliance (BSAA). A highly trained operative, she partners with Chris Redfield during his mission to confront deadly biological threats in Africa.

Appearance

She is a Black woman with dark skin, short brown hair, brown or green eyes, and earrings. Her tactical gear includes fingerless gloves. Being left-handed, her weapon-aiming posture is oriented to the opposite side of right-handed operatives. In addition to her standard operational attire, her alternative outfits include a business suit with glasses, a Little Red Riding Hood costume, tribal garments, and club attire.

Personality

Sheva possesses an unyielding sense of justice and deeply hates bioterrorism. Highly empathetic and fiercely devoted to her allies, she cares strongly for her operational partners. Her steadfast support helps Chris Redfield overcome his emotional isolation following the loss of his former partner.

Abilities

Sheva is a skilled left-handed marksman capable of wielding an exclusive longbow. Leveraging her exceptional agility and flexible physique, she excels in hand-to-hand combat, executing high-speed kick techniques and acrobatic melee maneuvers that her partner cannot perform.

Background

At eight years old, Sheva lost her parents and brother in an accident orchestrated by the Umbrella Corporation to cover up a biological experiment. After escaping abusive relatives, she was rescued by an anti-government guerrilla group. At age fifteen, upon discovering that the guerrillas planned to use bio-weapons, she severed ties with them and tipped off American authorities to prevent the attack. Under American sponsorship, she received higher education and eventually joined the BSAA.

Relationships

Sheva serves as the loyal partner of Chris Redfield, building deep mutual trust during their mission in Africa. She later contacts Piers Nivans to offer assistance in locating Chris. Within the BSAA, she also maintains professional ties with Josh Stone and Dave Johnson.

Trivia

Sheva is notable as the first left-handed Black playable protagonist in the main Resident Evil series. During the scriptwriting phase for the CG film Resident Evil: Vendetta, she was initially considered for the lead female role before story adjustments were made.
