Overview

Inui Takumi is the main protagonist of the tokusatsu series Kamen Rider 555. Originally a free-spirited wanderer traveling across Japan, he unexpectedly obtains the Faiz Gear and assumes the mantle of Kamen Rider Faiz to battle the Orphnoch threat. While residing and working part-time at a local laundry shop, he initially struggles with a lack of personal ambition, choosing instead to fight to protect the dreams of others. Despite carrying a dark secret regarding his true nature, he maintains his commitment to defending humanity.

Appearance

In human form, Takumi frequently wears a black peacoat and a silver pendant engraved with the Greek letter "Φ" (Phi), alongside distinctive bright red underwear. When transforming into Kamen Rider Faiz, he equips the Faiz Gear belt over a dedicated helmet and armor bodysuit. In his true form as the Wolf Orphnoch, his appearance shifts into a lupine creature covered in grey and white fur.

Personality

Takumi exhibits a blunt, unsociable exterior and often speaks roughly, which frequently leads to misunderstandings with people he meets. He suffers from an extreme sensitivity to hot foods, requiring him to carefully cool down dishes before eating. Beneath his prickly demeanor lies a compassionate and selfless individual who hesitates to justify his actions to others. Driven by a deep-seated fear of hurting or betraying those close to him, he initially avoids deep personal connections, yet gradually reveals a staunch commitment to safeguarding the hopes and safety of his companions.

Abilities

Takumi transforms into Kamen Rider Faiz by utilizing the Faiz Gear belt system. In combat, he displays exceptional hand-to-hand fighting capabilities and is adept at utilizing specialized equipment such as the Faiz Blaster and Delta Gear. He exhibits a recognizable habit of flicking his wrist immediately after transforming and during battles. Furthermore, his identity as an Original Wolf Orphnoch grants him formidable innate combat prowess and enhanced physical abilities even when fighting in his monstrous form.

Background

Takumi awakened as the Wolf Orphnoch following a fatal accident in his childhood. Fearing his powers and the risk of betraying others, he spent years wandering Japan on his motorcycle without settling down. His life changed upon meeting Sonoda Mari in Kyushu, leading him to take up the Faiz Gear and move into the Kikuchi laundry shop with Mari and Keitaro Kikuchi. Overcoming severe psychological anguish upon revealing his Orphnoch identity, he chooses to fight as a human, ultimately defeating the Arch Orphnoch to restore peace.

Relationships

Sonoda Mari is Takumi's primary companion, having drawn him into battle after an accidental luggage mix-up. Keitaro Kikuchi provides him with shelter and employment at his family's laundry shop, forming a warm household dynamic where he endears Takumi with a casual nickname. With Yuji Kiba, the Horse Orphnoch, Takumi shares a poignant relationship marked by recurring ideological clashes and mutual understanding regarding human coexistence. Despite constant friction with Masato Kusaka (Kamen Rider Kaixa), Takumi respects him as a battle comrade and deeply grieves his tragic fate.

Trivia

Takumi's characteristic wrist-flicking motion during battle serves as a signature visual habit that identifies him as the individual wearing the Rider Gear. His extreme intolerance for piping-hot food is a recurring lighthearted detail throughout the series, resulting in scenes where hot dishes are substituted or cooled down before he agrees to eat.
