Appearance
Modeled after an on-road motorcycle, his red body is covered by red Riding Armor. His helmet features a blue Moto Shield visor concealing circular eyes called the Face Flasher, along with horns named the Ace Feeler that form the letter A when viewed from the front or side. Tire-shaped parts known as Land Wheels are mounted on his back, while Wheel Shields are attached to the outer ankles. The chest area incorporates the Aero Lung—styled after a fuel cap—alongside Radiator Lungs for cooling, and sharp armor plates known as Shoulder Cowls protect his shoulders.
Personality
Cold, stoic, and relentless, he initially keeps others at a distance, often responding abruptly to those who pester him with questions. Driven by revenge for the loss of his family, he presents a harsh exterior, yet beneath it lies a deep sense of justice and loyalty to his allies. In battle, he makes intense, deliberate exclamations during his transformations and delivers chilling catchphrases before finishing off opponents. Despite his serious demeanor, he occasionally finds himself flustered or dragged along by the antics of those around him.
Abilities
By revving the throttle on his driver, he can generate additional energy to heat his body, granting immunity to freezing or energy-draining attacks. He can also spin his ankle wheels to grind down enemy armor. He wields the Engine Blade, a heavy 20 kg sword; inserting the Engine Memory grants him electric, jet, and steam elemental attacks. His finishing techniques include the Accel Glanzer jump-kick, as well as the Ace Slasher and Dynamic Ace sword strikes that carve an A-shaped energy blade. Additionally, his Bike Form can combine with the support droid Gunner A or Hardboilder units for heavy artillery or aerial combat.
Background
Assigned to the Futo Police Department's Paranormal Crime Investigation Division, he arrives in the city to lead investigations into crime involving Gaia Memories. Driven to find the culprit responsible for the murder of his family, he acquires the Accel Driver and Accel Memory, becoming Kamen Rider Accel. Though he initially operates as a lone wolf who clashes with Shotaro Hidari and his allies, he gradually builds mutual trust with them as they work together to protect Futo.
Relationships
Though he initially clashes with Shotaro Hidari and Philip of the Narumi Detective Agency over methods and motives, he comes to rely on them deeply as trusted partners in protecting Futo. He is frequently overwhelmed by the head of the agency, Akiko Narumi, whom he eventually marries.
Trivia
The distinct, drawn-out pause during his transformation chant was originally an ad-lib by his actor that became a permanent character trait. To transport the heavy 20 kg Engine Blade while untransformed, his personal motorcycle, the Diablossa, is equipped with a custom balancing attachment.
