Overview

Diane is a primary character in The Seven Deadly Sins, serving as a member of the legendary order of knights under the title of the Serpent's Sin of Envy. Hailing from the Giant Clan, she boasts immense physical strength and earth-manipulating powers, while also acting as the key attraction and poster girl for the traveling tavern known as the Boar Hat. Despite her giant stature, her mental age is equivalent to a fifteen-year-old human girl, characterized by a sweet, compassionate nature and an earnest dedication to her friends.

Appearance

Diane is a giantess identifiable by her light purple eyes and brown hair, which is tied into long twintails that reach past her shoulders when let down. A serpent tattoo is engraved on her outer left thigh. Her natural height is 915 centimeters, though magical spores or tablets can shrink her to a 165-centimeter human stature. Her original outfit consists of a yellowish-orange leotard with arm gloves and boots, which she later replaces with an open-chest turtleneck dress paired with spats.

Personality

Diane has a straight-talking, pure-hearted personality and refers to herself with the pronoun "boku." She displays a naive, slightly jealous temperament alongside deep empathy, often feeling conflicted about her clan's combat-centric culture. Her inability to be ruthless can sometimes restrain her true strength, yet she shows no mercy to those who hurt innocent people or her friends. When embarrassed or sulking, she frequently covers her face with her twintails, and she harbors a strong fear of insects.

Abilities

Possessing the top tier of raw strength among her peers, Diane utilizes the Giant Clan's innately inherited magic known as Creation. This power allows her to freely manipulate earth and minerals, enabling abilities such as hardening her body into metal, generating rock golems and earth puppets, and altering vast landscapes. She can perform Droll's Dance to increase combat power levels. Her Sacred Treasure, the War Hammer Gideon, is a one-ton sledgehammer that acts like a lightning rod, redirecting offensive magic straight into the ground.

Background

After leaving her homeland of Megadozer, Diane spent five centuries alongside an amnesiac Harlequin. Later, she was framed for the death of her mentor Matrona and hundreds of knights due to a trap set by Holy Knights. Saved from execution by Meliodas, she joined the Seven Deadly Sins. Following the order's disbandment, she hid in the Forest of White Dreams until reuniting with Meliodas. Throughout their journey and the Holy War, she recovered her forgotten memories and eventually married Harlequin (King).

Relationships

Diane initially harbored a deep crush on her captain, Meliodas, because he treated her as a normal girl rather than a monster. Though initially cool toward Elizabeth, she soon formed a tight sisterly friendship with her. Her connection with Harlequin (King) stems from childhood, eventually evolving into mutual love and marriage. Additionally, the Holy Knight Howzer developed romantic feelings for her, while the Commandment Droll served as an influential figure who passed down his ancestral dance.

Trivia

Diane's favorite food is whole roasted pig. The characteristic outfit and hair styling she wears were originally crafted for her by King during the five hundred years they spent together in her youth. Outside the main narrative, she once rendered a special gravure-style swimsuit appearance on the cover of Weekly Shonen Magazine.
