Overview
Guila is a Holy Knight who appears in The Seven Deadly Sins and its sequel, Four Knights of the Apocalypse. Originally rising as part of the New Generation, she advances from an apprentice to a Crystal-rank Holy Knight and eventually becomes a Deputy Great Holy Knight. Despite her relentless combat style, she is driven by a deep devotion to her family.
Appearance
Guila is characterized by long black hair reaching her waist and narrow, closed eyes that constantly wear a gentle smile. Early on, she had long front bangs, but they were cut noticeably short during a fight with Meliodas. She has a slender build and later appears as a mature woman in her early thirties.
Personality
Guila maintains a polite and soft-spoken demeanor, yet she acts with fierce bravery and strong pride on the battlefield. She is fundamentally kind-hearted and despises unnecessary conflict. Her primary motivation in life is protecting her younger brother, Zeal. While under the influence of demon blood, she temporarily lost her empathy and committed brutal acts, though she deeply regretted her actions once she regained her true self.
Abilities
Guila possesses the magic inherent to her known as Explosion, allowing her to generate and detonate sparks at will. Her techniques include Drift Bomb, Shot Bomb, Brilliant Detonation, Chain Explosion, and the landmine-like Killer Mine. She can perform the combined technique Bomb Cyclone alongside Howzer and use Flame Rapier to coat her sword in flame. Additionally, she retains the ability to safely control Demonification without losing composure.
Background
After her father, a Holy Knight named Dale, went missing following a disgraced incident, Guila and her younger brother Zeal suffered harsh ostracization. Seeking power to protect Zeal, she consumed demon blood under Hendrickson's influence to join the New Generation. Although the blood initially corrupted her morality, discovering the truth about her father and witnessing Diane protect Zeal inspired her to defect. She later became a sword instructor for Princess Veronica and eventually rose to Deputy Great Holy Knight.
Relationships
Guila is fiercely devoted to her younger brother, Zeal. Her father was Dale, whose tragic fate at Hendrickson's hands led to her eventual defection. She frequently operates alongside Jericho and fought alongside Howzer after breaking away from the corrupted Holy Knights. Helbram previously served as her mentor. Gowther temporarily altered her memories to make her believe they were lovers; after her true memories were restored, she showed no resentment toward him and expressed her gratitude before parting ways.
Trivia
Among all the Holy Knights of the New Generation who ingested demon blood, Guila was the sole individual who avoided catastrophic demonization while retaining her elevated magical abilities.
