Escanor experiences a total psychological shift governed by solar time. During the night, he is self-deprecating, timid, and highly polite, speaking with modest deference. As the sun climbs, his manner becomes haughty and condescending, addressing enemies with supreme arrogance. Despite these fluctuations, he maintains an intrinsically noble knightly spirit. His single-handed giant axe, Sacred Axe Rhitta, features the Charge & Fire trait, enabling it to absorb, store, and release his vast solar energy at will. His arsenal includes heat-based techniques such as Cruel Sun, Pride Flare, Crazy Prominence, Super Slash, Final Prominence, and his bare-handed strikes Sacred Sword Escanor and Sacred Spear Escanor.
Background
Born as a prince of the Kingdom of Castellio, Escanor's magic first awakened during his childhood when he defended himself against his abusive older brother Demond, accidentally breaking his brother's arm. Branded as a cursed monster by his parents and sentenced to death, he was rescued by a compassionate maid named Rosa who helped him flee the kingdom. Following a lonely wanderer's life, he met Meliodas and Merlin, who welcomed his unique gifts and recruited him into the Seven Deadly Sins. After the order disbanded, he ran a secluded remote tavern until returning to battle against the Demon race. Armed with the knowledge that his magic was slowly destroying his body, he burnt away his remaining life force in the final battle against the Demon King, passing away peacefully as his body dissolved into flames.
