Overview
Duo Lon is a character introduced in the Ash Saga of The King of Fighters series, making his debut in The King of Fighters 2003 as a member of the main Hero Team alongside Ash Crimson and Shen Woo. Hailing from China, he is an assassin belonging to the Hizoku clan. Characterized by his melancholic, handsome appearance, he embarks on a journey to track down and confront his biological father, Ron, who betrayed their clan.
Appearance
Duo Lon is a handsome young Eastern man with a somewhat melancholic aura, pale skin, and red eyes. His long hair, which is dark or brown, is styled into a single long queue (braid). He wears dark, gothic-style assassin clothing consisting of long sleeves and pants, decorated with a dragon print motif.
Personality
Duo Lon is quiet, cool, and highly disciplined, keeping his personal thoughts closely guarded. Despite his silent nature, he is reasonably approachable and willing to converse with people he trusts. Because he frequently forms teams with eccentric individuals like Ash Crimson, Shen Woo, and Elisabeth Blanctorche, he often takes on the role of the grounded, sensible voice of reason among them.
Abilities
He practices a martial art known as Makoku Meizanken Juon Tokei. In battle, he summons malevolent spirits to attack, utilizes spatial techniques such as Genmukyaku to strike from a distance by thrusting his legs into the ground, moves rapidly with Himokyo, and employs illusions to create multiple images of himself to overwhelm opponents.
Background
Duo Lon belongs to the West Poison faction of the Hizoku assassin clan based in Hebei Province, China. He is the third son born to the clan leader Ron and his official wife, having numerous siblings including a younger half-sister named Xiao Lon. Following his father's betrayal of the clan, Duo Lon left his village to hunt him down. He participated in the tournaments initially alongside Ash Crimson, and later accepted an invitation from Elisabeth Blanctorche to join her team.
Relationships
His primary target is his father, Ron, the traitor of the Hizoku clan. He shares a history within the West Poison division alongside Lin. He was teammates with Ash Crimson and Shen Woo, maintaining a subtle bond with Shen even when memories of Ash faded. He has also aligned himself with Elisabeth Blanctorche and Benimaru Nikaido during his investigations.
Trivia
According to the character developers, his visual design was modeled after D, the protagonist of the novel Vampire Hunter D. Additionally, his fighting style name and certain move concepts draw inspiration from the character Shishiwakamaru and his weapon Makokumeizanken from the manga Yu Yu Hakusho.
