Overview
Lien Neville is a major character and deadly assassin introduced in SNK's 3D fighting game series, The King of Fighters: Maximum Impact. Known by the title The Sexy Avenger of the Shadows, she blends an alluring presence with lethal efficiency. Trained from an early age in espionage and combat tactics, she acts as a prominent figure within the underworld operations of the storyline.
Appearance
Lien Neville is depicted as a female spy featuring blonde hair and an open-chested black bodysuit accompanied by gloves. Her visual design emphasizes a sleek, revealing outfit reminiscent of classic espionage heroines.
Personality
Lien displays a calm, ruthless demeanor reminiscent of Leona Heidern during her missions. She harbors an intense hatred for dishonesty and deeply cherishes a pocket watch inherited from her late father. Underneath her sharp composure, she holds deeply conflicted emotions of love and resentment toward her master, remaining obedient on the surface while secretly looking for a chance to exact vengeance.
Abilities
Her combat relies on a martial art known as Murderous Karate, combined with various lethal gadgets. Trained in survival and espionage from a young age, she possesses deep knowledge of human pressure points and maintains an impeccable task completion rate. In battle, she employs dynamic combinations and tricky setups, even calling down direct laser strikes from an orbital satellite.
Background
Hailing from the United Kingdom, Lien lost her parents as a child during a syndicate raid led by Duke. Though her attempt to avenge them failed, Duke spared her life because she resembled his deceased younger sister, raising her for fifteen years to become an elite assassin. Serving under Duke in the Mephistopheles organization while secretly waiting to strike him down, she executed the assassination of Fate under his orders.
Relationships
Duke acts as her parents' killer, foster parent, leader, and lover, creating a deeply tangled relationship of hostility and attachment. Because she assassinated Fate, she is intensely hated by the brothers Alba Meira and Soiree Meira. Additionally, game producer FALCOON originally planned her character as a rival to Mai Shiranui.
Trivia
Her personal interests include scuba diving and eating tomatoes. Her character design embraces classic female spy tropes, featuring a stark contrast between grounded martial arts techniques and extravagant satellite laser weaponry.
