Bang, also known by his official hero alias Silver Fang, is a high-ranking professional hero and legendary martial arts master in One-Punch Man. Initially holding a B-Class rank before being promoted to Rank 3 of the S-Class, he is widely regarded as a supreme authority in martial arts who operates his own dojo. Despite his advanced age, he possesses top-tier physical abilities and combat prowess, and he stands among the very few individuals who truly recognize the immense, unmeasurable strength of Saitama.

Appearance

Bang appears as a stern-faced elderly man with spiky white hair, sharp grey eyes, prominent arched eyebrows, and a thick mustache. Though he naturally exhibits a thin frame with a slightly stooped posture appropriate for his age, his body underneath is heavily scarred and muscular from decades of rigorous training. He wears a dark long-sleeved martial arts top paired with light-colored trousers and kung fu footwear.

Personality

Despite his intimidating facial features, Bang is a warm, amiable, and surprisingly playful elderly man. He acts as a sensible, grounding presence among the S-Class heroes, often stepping in to moderate their conflict. In battle, he adheres to a philosophy of avoiding lethal harm whenever possible. Highly insightful, he respects Saitama's choices and treats him with genuine understanding rather than judgment.

Abilities

As the founder of the Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist style, Bang utilizes a flawless combat technique focused on parrying, redirecting, and neutralizing powerful enemy strikes. His physical conditioning grants him astounding durability and precision skills like the Fang Offense Fist and Awakening Breath to draw out his maximum physical limit. Together with his brother Bomb, he can perform devastating combined ultimate techniques such as the Dragon Slaying Cross Fang Fist and Roaring Aura Sky Ripping Fist. In his youth, he also used an intensely offensive technique known as the Explosive Release Fist.

Background

In his youth, Bang used his natural combat talents recklessly until a defeat against his older brother Bomb reshaped his mindset, prompting him to create a martial art dedicated to defense and protection. He later joined the Hero Association, becoming a key figure in establishing the S-Class. Although his dojo once thrived, the violent rampage of his star pupil Garou drove away his other students. When Garou resurfaces as a dangerous threat hunting down heroes, Bang takes it upon himself to resolve the situation personally.

Relationships

Bang maintains a close and harmonious bond with his older brother Bomb, with whom he executes powerful joint martial arts techniques. He carries a deep sense of personal responsibility toward his former top disciple, Garou, and temporarily dismissed his current student Charanko to keep him away from harm. He shares a respectful rival relationship and casual hobbies with Atomic Samurai, and he frequently interacts with Saitama and Genos in hopes of recruiting them to his dojo.

Bang's favorite foods are spiny lobster and tofu, whereas he disliking Chinese cabbage. The design and narrative background of his younger self share several symbolic parallels with his former student Garou.
