Overgrown Rover

Overview

Overgrown Rover is a character appearing in the series One-Punch Man. As an executive member of the Monster Association, this creature holds a Dragon-level threat classification, representing one of the most dangerous entities within the organization. Despite its colossal strength and terrifying status as a high-ranking monster, it fundamentally retains the instincts, habits, and behavior of a domestic dog, creating a stark contrast between its immense destructive potential and its obedient, pet-like demeanor.

Appearance

Overgrown Rover appears as a colossal black dog featuring six glowing eyes and a large mouth filled with sharp teeth. Following the downfall of its faction, its massive body shrinks dramatically down to the physical size of a small puppy, while still retaining its distinctive six eyes.

Personality

Overgrown Rover is fiercely territorial and extremely aggressive toward any intruders who step foot into its domain. Despite its monstrous power and hostile tendencies, its underlying nature remains identical to that of a common domestic dog. Consequently, it exhibits a strong reflexive tendency to obey standard canine commands, such as sitting when ordered to do so by a dominant figure.

Abilities

Overgrown Rover is capable of unleashing powerful energy blasts and fire-like breath weapons directly from its mouth in rapid succession. Beyond its destructive ranged attacks, its massive physique grants it extraordinary physical strength and immense durability, allowing it to easily overwhelm intruders and withstand intense combat scenarios.

Background

Serving as a Dragon-level executive within the Monster Association, Overgrown Rover guarded the deep subterranean levels of the group's headquarters, clashing with intruders such as Garou and Bang. However, upon encountering Saitama, it was struck down while being commanded to sit, instilling absolute submission within the creature. After the Monster Association collapsed, it lost its power and shrank into a harmless state. Saitama subsequently took it in, leading the creature to live as a household pet alongside Black Sperm in the A-Class residential area of the Hero Association headquarters.

Relationships

Overgrown Rover is completely obedient to Saitama, who subdued it in combat and later took it in as a domestic pet. It shares a living environment under Saitama's care with Black Sperm, another former Monster Association member reduced to a diminished form. During the raid on the Monster Association, it acted as a major obstacle to intruding combatants like Garou and Bang.

Trivia
