Overview

Lord Boros is the leader of the Dark Matter Thieves, a group of alien invaders in One-Punch Man. Proclaiming himself the ruler of the entire universe, he traveled to Earth over the span of twenty years following a prophecy that he would find a worthy opponent there. Having grown thoroughly bored due to his overwhelming strength, he shared the same existential emptiness as Saitama. He stands out as one of the few opponents capable of surviving multiple attacks from Saitama and earning his genuine praise.

Appearance

Standing 2.4 meters tall, Boros is a humanoid alien distinguished by a single large blue eye, pointed ears with hoops, and sharp fangs. His light blue skin is covered in dark blue crack-like markings. He has spiky pink hair that drapes over his face. He initially wears heavy armor with spikes on the shoulders and forearms to seal his energy, paired with wide white trousers, a magenta belt, and curved boots. A red sphere rests on his chest. When his armor breaks, his body expands with exposed spinal tissues, taking on a darker hue with a secondary eye beneath his chest. In his maximum energy state, his hair grows long and turns white, while his eyes turn white with black pupils.

Personality

Boros possesses an arrogant demeanor stemming from his absolute supremacy, showing ruthless indifference toward the destruction wrought upon enemies. However, he also demonstrates a degree of respect toward formidable opponents, greeting them formally before combat. In battle, he is serious and methodical, seeking to end fights quickly without leaving openings. Driven by a deep craving for a thrilling challenge, he finds ultimate contentment in finally being able to unleash his full power in a fight to the death.

Abilities

Boros possesses extraordinary physical attributes, immense latent energy, and elite regenerative abilities capable of healing fatal wounds within seconds. He can project destructive energy beams from his body or use the energy to propel himself at extreme speeds. By activating his Meteoric Burst state, he pushes his physical limits to achieve immense strength and movement that can melted surrounding structures. His ultimate technique, the Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon, fires all of his concentrated energy from his mouth with enough power to wipe out the surface of a planet.

Background

Hailing from a harsh planet where only the fittest survived, Boros proved vastly superior even among his species. As head of the Dark Matter Thieves, he conquered countless worlds across the universe until no opponent could stand against him. Yearning for a true fight, he embarked on a twenty-year journey to Earth based on a seer's prophecy. Upon arriving, he engaged in a fierce battle against Saitama, utilizing every ounce of his strength before succumbing to Saitama's Serious Punch.

Relationships

Boros views Saitama as the ultimate opponent he searched decades to find, growing to hold immense respect for him during their duel. Upon his defeat, he acknowledged Saitama's insurmountable strength. As the absolute leader of the Dark Matter Thieves, he commanded high-ranking alien warriors including Melzargard, Groribas, and Geryuganshoop aboard his massive space vessel.

Trivia

Boros originally appeared as the final villain in ONE's earlier unreleased work, Sun Man. Because he was created to be far too powerful for the protagonist to defeat, it ended up taking roughly twenty years in real time for him to reappear in One-Punch Man. In official character guides, he is humorously noted for his tragic lack of any pathetic qualities compared to other monsters.
