Overview
Lifeng is a playable character in Arknights: Endfield. A sixteen-year-old youth of the Anasa race from Wuling City, he serves as a reserve member of the local guard while working as an intern in the Endfield Special Technology Department. Having endured a catastrophic childhood accident that took both his parents and one of his arms, he has developed exceptional maturity and resilience, fighting as a physical vanguard operator to protect his homeland and loved ones.
Appearance
Lifeng is a male member of the Anasa race with a noticeably short stature. Having lost one of his arms in an accident during his youth, he wears a cutting-edge prototype prosthetic arm powered by Xijiang. In combat, he wields a long-handled polearm.
Personality
Forced to grow up rapidly following a tragic childhood event, Lifeng displays a level of maturity, diligence, and reliability far beyond his sixteen years. He is deeply responsible and attentive, acting as a dependable older brother to his younger sister. A disciplined individual who studies military strategy and practices martial arts while tending to dray beasts, he also exhibits a youthful charm through his passionate devotion to a Yanese trading card game.
Abilities
Equipped with an advanced Xijiang-driven prosthetic arm, Lifeng exhibits superior physical power, speed, and agility. As a physical vanguard operator, he specializes in knocking down targets and inflicting physical vulnerability to augment the damage output of his teammates. His ultimate skill delivers a wide-area strike that draws multiple enemies together, making him highly effective at crowd control and coordinated team-link attacks.
Background
Lifeng enjoyed a peaceful childhood in Wuling until a disastrous event before he turned ten claimed the lives of his parents and cost him his arm. Compelled to mature quickly to support his younger sister, he systematically honed his independence and life skills. After gaining experience as a reserve member of the Wuling guard, he joined the Endfield Special Technology Department as an intern to expand his capabilities.
Relationships
Lifeng trained for years under the guidance of Dapan, building a strong tactical partnership with him. He serves under Mi Fu, the patrol captain of Wuling, and relies on Xoan Fangyi for the technical maintenance of his prosthetic arm, holding enough admiration for her to craft a custom card featuring her image. Within his personal life, he acts as a protective older brother to his younger sister.
Trivia
His name, Lifeng, is created by combining the names of his late father ('Li') and mother ('Feng'). The visual motifs of his skills, including the four-armed avatar projected during combat, draw direct inspiration from the Buddhist deity Acala. Additionally, he is diagnosed with Oripathy and ranks among the shortest characters in the overall operator cast.
