Overview
Yuga Oudou is the main protagonist of Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS who also appears in Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!! and related video game titles. As a fifth-grade student at Goha 7th Elementary School, he grows frustrated with the overly regulated style of traditional Goha Duels. Driven by a passion for mechanics and invention, he successfully creates and installs his own custom rule set known as Rush Duel, aiming to spread a new, liberating way to play across the world.
Appearance
Yuga features vibrant brown and blonde spikey hair with bangs falling between his eyes, along with striking green eyes. His attire includes a shirt layered under a standard jacket, complemented by a pair of fingerless gloves on his hands.
Personality
Yuga is remarkably cheerful, independent, and resilient against mind games, though he can be flustered when unexpected events catch him off guard. While he maintains a friendly atmosphere around others, he harbors a strong tendency to shoulder all heavy burdens entirely on his own. He also exhibits a sharp, slightly ruthless side toward his own mechanical creations, and possesses an intense, overwhelming phobia of ladybugs that instantly drives him into a rage.
Abilities
Yuga is an exceptionally gifted mechanic with advanced real-time programming capabilities, enabling him to modify Duel Disks and engineer entirely new software systems. In card battles, he utilizes a Spellcaster-centric deck built with diverse attributes and types to maximize the power of his main ace monster, Sevens Road Magician. He is also skilled at performing complex Maximum Summons, including Supreme Machine Magnum Overlord and Vast Vulcan the Fiendish Ash Flame.
Background
After witnessing an unorthodox duel by Otes, Yuga was gifted Sevens Road Magician and inspired to carve out his own future. By defeating a holographic manifestation of Otes in a trial duel, he succeeded in replacing Goha's rigid system with Rush Duel across global devices. Alongside his friends Luke, Romin, and Gakuto, he confronts Goha Corporation's attempts to stop him, accepting the responsibility of a creator to guide the world toward a new era of dueling.
Relationships
Yuga shares a deep connection with his core circle of allies, consisting of Tatsuhisa Kamijo (Luke), Romin Kirishima, and Gakuto Sogetsu. He views Otes as a mysterious figure who originally pointed him toward his path and granted him his primary card. Kaizo functions as his modified robotic assistant, while his childhood acquaintance Nanaho Nanahoshi is the direct source of his severe insect trauma. He is also related to Yuhi Oudou's twin sister, Yuamu Oudou.
Trivia
Yuga is fond of eating udon noodles, while disliking green peppers. Because his centerpiece monster Sevens Road Magician relies on different element types in the graveyard to boost its attack power, his personal deck is intentionally designed with a wide mix of attributes rather than focusing on a single archetype.
