Overview
Titania is the avatar form imposed upon Asuna Yuki during the Fairy Dance Arc of Sword Art Online. Held captive within the VRMMORPG Alfheim Online by the self-proclaimed Fairy King Oberon, she is given this specific avatar to serve as his captive Fairy Queen at the top of the World Tree.
Appearance
Based closely on her real-world features, this avatar possesses pointed elf-like ears and translucent fairy wings on her back. Her attire consists of a bare-shouldered white crop top that leaves her midriff exposed, paired with a long white skirt. A red ribbon is tied into a bow at the top of her bodice. She goes barefoot with white bands wrapped around her ankles.
Personality
Despite her captivity and the loss of her personal freedom, she maintains immense inner strength and dignity. She refuses to break under psychological pressure, retaining unwavering trust in Kazuto Kirigaya while actively seeking ways to aid her own rescue.
Abilities
Deprived of all standard user privileges—including the ability to log out of the system—her functional capabilities are heavily restricted. Although her avatar features fairy wings capable of flight, her containment inside a cage prevents her from freely utilizing them or engaging in combat.
Background
Following the SAO incident, Asuna failed to awaken and was instead secretly trapped atop the World Tree in Alfheim Online. Forced into the role of Titania inside a massive birdcage, she was cut off from the outside world. Rather than remaining passive, she managed to temporarily slip out of her cell to access an administrator console, securing a high-level system card and dropping it below to assist in her own rescue.
Relationships
She shares a profound bond of love and trust with Kirito (Kazuto Kirigaya), holding absolute faith that he will breach the virtual world to save her. Conversely, she harbors deep revulsion toward Oberon (Nobuyuki Sugou), who imprisoned her and forced the Titania identity upon her.
Trivia
The avatar's name is derived from Titania, the Queen of the Fairies in William Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream, mirroring her captured role opposite the character Fairy King Oberon.
