Overview

Fiora is the heroine of Xenoblade Chronicles, an 18-year-old Homs girl who is the younger sister of the hero Dunban and a childhood friend of Shulk and Reyn. Serving as a trainee in the Colony 9 Defense Force, she displays remarkable combat ability for her age. Alongside her training, she selflessly cares for her injured brother and looks after her friends, acting with a level of maturity beyond her years. Bold and proactive, she often takes the initiative and drives her companions into action.

Appearance

Fiora is a Homs young woman with long blonde hair, an ahoge feature, and green eyes. Her standard attire consists of a white midriff-baring top paired with detached sleeves, a miniskirt, and thigh-high socks. She sports headgear and jewelry alongside elements of armor and a fitted bodysuit. In combat, she dual-wields a pair of knives. When appearing in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, her visual design was rendered in a more pronounced anime style.

Personality

Fiora possesses a bold, energetic, and highly proactive temperament. She is cheerful and pure-hearted, yet fiercely strong-willed, frequently dragging Shulk and Reyn along with her dynamic decisions. Having lost her parents to Mechon at a young age, she is deeply protective of her loved ones. She harbors romantic feelings for Shulk and takes delight in cooking homemade meals for him. While she loves vegetables and small animals, she strongly dislikes insects, spicy food, and exotic delicacies.

Abilities

Fiora fights with dual knives, specializing in rapid-fire strikes and high critical hit rate. Her arts include fast multi-hit combinations, back-attack damage multipliers, and skills that inflict Topple, Daze, or Break to set up party combos. In Xenoblade Chronicles 2, she acts as a Wind-element healer using twin blades; however, her passive battle skills boost party critical rates and grant massive damage bonuses, allowing her to deal damage rivaling dedicated offensive roles. She can be assigned to any Driver freely and ignores environmental stat debuffs.

Background

After losing her parents to the Mechon during childhood, Fiora was raised by her older brother Dunban. While assisting Dunban's recovery from injuries sustained in battle a year prior, she trained hard as a Defense Force apprentice in Colony 9. Following Shulk and Reyn to Tephra Cave, she joined them on a routine assignment. Soon after their return, Colony 9 was launched into chaos by a sudden Mechon invasion. Bravely charging an immune Mechon to save her allies, she was impaled by its claws and presumed dead.

Relationships

Dunban, the Homs hero, is her older brother whom she deeply respects and cares for during his recovery. Shulk and Reyn are her childhood friends. She frequently scolds Reyn for his recklessness while trusting him deeply, whereas she harbors romantic affection for Shulk, often preparing home-cooked dishes for him. In Xenoblade Chronicles 2, after being transported to a mysterious challenge realm, she quickly befriends Rex and his companions, granting them her combat support.

Trivia

Early concept art reveals that Fiora was originally considered for a twin-tail hairstyle, a design detail later showcased in official art books. In the Super Smash Bros. series, she makes appearances as a trophy in the Wii U game, as an ACE-tier Spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and as part of Shulk's Final Smash attack. Her guest appearance design in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was illustrated by Kunihiko Tanaka.
