Overview

Kalpas is a character from Honkai Impact 3rd. He serves as the 6th member of the Thirteen Flame-Chasers within the Previous Era anti-Honkai organization Moth That Chase Flames, bearing the signet of Decimation. Known by the title Non-Heaven, he was formerly a member of the covert ops unit Cocoon. Concealing his face behind a dark mask, he is defined by relentless rage and an imposing combat presence. Although his ferocious temperament and unruly attitude caused him to be placed at 6th rank among the Flame-Chasers, his formidable martial prowess makes him a terrifying force on the battlefield.

Appearance

Kalpas has short grey hair and a muscular frame, keeping his face hidden behind a pitch-black mask. Careful inspection through the mask reveals hazel eyes with dark circles beneath them. He wears Anti-Kevin Armament Type-104, a specialized combat outfit designed for high-risk members of the unit Cocoon that also doubles as a restraint device during rampages. His attire consists of a black shirt, black pants, black knee boots, a black belt, a single long white glove on his left hand, and medical vials attached at his waist.

Personality

Kalpas is defined by constant rage, functioning as a ferocious berserker who relentlessly seeks battle. He exhibits a harsh, foul-mouthed demeanor, refusing to use polite language or bother remembering others' names. Behind his violent exterior, however, he possesses a strong moral code, despising meaningless death and honoring the deceased. He displays a protective warmth toward those he comes to accept, unleashing terrifying wrath upon anyone who harms them. Surprisingly, despite his chaotic nature, he is an exceptionally skilled cook.

Abilities

Even prior to becoming a Fusion Warrior, Kalpas possessed superhuman physical strength and immortality, capable of tearing Honkai Beasts apart bare-handed and slaying the Fifth Herrscher single-handedly. After undergoing Meta-Morph surgery using genes from the Emperor-class Honkai Beast Asura, his innate power merged with Fusion Warrior abilities. Upon activating Active Honkai Reaction, he transforms into a flame-wreathed demonic entity, crushing enemies using his fists or massive pillars. Following the battle against the Herrscher of Binding, he lost his source of immortality, reducing his overall power.

Background

Kalpas arrived on Earth like a meteor, falling into a primitive village afflicted by the Honkai. Although initially worshipped as a deity, he was eventually bound to a pillar by the villagers, who extracted his blood believing it cured Honkai infections. After the village was wiped out by a fresh outbreak, he found shelter at a sanatorium on Dusk Street, where he fought Sakura to a draw. Brought to Moth That Chase Flames by Elysia, he was restrained, subjected to Aponia's Discipline, and assigned to the black-ops unit Cocoon. He later became a Fusion Warrior and fought until his death on the Moon against the Herrscher of Finality.

Relationships

Kalpas recognizes Sakura as his sole true comrade, reacting with intense fury when she lost her life during the Twelfth Herrscher incident. He harbors deep hatred toward Aponia, who bound him with a Discipline preventing him from harming the innocent, holding her responsible for the tragic outcome regarding Sakura. Elysia recruited him into Moth That Chase Flames and designated his 6th rank. He maintains a fierce rivalry with Kevin Kaslana, one of the few warriors capable of overpowering him. Additionally, he underwent surgery under Mobius and wears a mask given to him by Kosma.

Trivia

The name Kalpas originates from the Sanskrit term kalpa, referring to an astronomical length of time in Buddhist cosmology encompassing endless cycles of creation and destruction. His mask possesses no supernatural functions; he wears it simply because he likes the design created by Eden and gifted to him by Kosma. Despite his intimidating reputation, rumors among his peers suggested his room was filled with hand-carved wooden figures and plush toys. In seasonal event narratives, he is featured as a master chef preparing meals for others.
