Overview
Li Sushang is a character appearing in Honkai Impact 3rd and the visual novel 7 Swords. Hailing from Shenzhou over five centuries ago, she was placed into cryosleep following fatal turmoil and awakened in the modern era. Alongside Rita and Durandal, she serves as one of Schicksal's three S-rank Valkyries, navigating a altered world while retaining her mastery of ancient martial arts.
Appearance
Li Sushang has brown hair styled very long, brown eyes, and wears hair ornaments. Her signature battlesuit, Jade Knight, combines white and traditional Chinese dress elements, featuring bare shoulders and fingerless gloves. In her Peregrine Sword style, she dons a wandering martial artist outfit equipped with a bamboo hat, a hidden blade inside an umbrella, and is accompanied by a bird named Ar-Bao.
Personality
Bright, direct, and cheerful, Sushang possesses a naturally naive disposition despite trying to act calm and mature. She adheres to martial arts etiquette and strongly believes in repaying debts, though her centuries-long sleep leaves her somewhat ignorant of modern life and prone to being easily misled. She is skilled at cooking, guided by the belief that food serves as medicine, and takes great joy in making meals that energize others.
Abilities
Sushang is a master of the Edge of Taixuan martial arts, demonstrating extraordinary sword technique from a young age. Having reached the required mental purity by age 15, she is one of the extremely few individuals able to execute the ultimate technique, Eminence. In combat, she effectively maneuvers sword skills as well as hand-to-hand techniques using a concealed blade within a bamboo umbrella.
Background
Born in ancient Shenzhou to her mother Qin Suyi, Sushang trained in sword fighting under her master Cheng Lingshuang. After sustaining grave injuries centuries ago, she was saved and placed in long-term cold sleep by Otto Apocalypse. Upon awakening over 500 years later, she joined Schicksal as an S-rank Valkyrie, undertaking missions while exploring the unfamiliar modern era.
Relationships
She is the daughter of Qin Suyi and the student of Cheng Lingshuang. She deeply respects Fu Hua, whom she views as her grandmaster. She holds a unique debt of gratitude toward Otto Apocalypse—referring to him initially as the Raksha—and aided his plans out of respect for his resolve. She also feels a natural compatibility with Kiana Kaslana.
Trivia
Her Japanese pronunciation of her respect title for Fu Hua sounds similar to the word for sushi, leading fans to affectionately nickname her after the dish. A parallel counterpart sharing her exact name appears as a playable character in Honkai: Star Rail.
