Falin Touden

Overview

A central character in Dungeon Meshi, Falin Touden is a Tallman spellcaster and the younger sister of party leader Laios Touden. Her consumption by a Red Dragon in the dungeon's depths serves as the primary catalyst for the story's rescue quest.

Appearance

Standing around 170 cm tall with a plump, sturdy build, Falin Touden has light blonde hair and amber eyes, which she frequently squints due to poor vision. Her fair skin easily shows a natural blush on her cheeks. She wears a blue hat alongside a blue-and-white robe, wielding a heavy metal staff resembling a warhammer or streetlight. Following her transformation into a chimera, she acquired dragon-like lower anatomy covered in white feathers.

Personality

Falin Touden possesses a remarkably gentle and calm demeanor, often acting as a mediator during disputes among her companions. Deeply fascinated by nature and living creatures, she approaches monsters and insects with the same affection and curious mindset as her brother. She exhibits profound empathy toward spirits, seeking to relieve their pain. Though quiet and reserved in public, she is a strong drinker who occasionally enjoys visiting taverns alone.

Abilities

Falin Touden is an exceptionally gifted spellcaster skilled in gnome-based magic, specializing in restorative healing, protective barriers, enhancement, and advanced exorcism. She relies on intuition and feeling rather than complex theoretical formulas. In addition to her magical aptitude, she possesses remarkable physical stamina and strength, capable of delivering powerful melee strikes using her heavy metal staff.

Background

Born in a village on the Northern Continent, Falin Touden displayed extraordinary spiritual talents from an early age, which unfortunately caused local villagers to fear her. She was later sent to a magic academy, where she formed a deep friendship with Marcille Donato. Dropping out to join her brother Laios Touden, she became a dungeon adventurer. After being swallowed by a Red Dragon, she was temporarily resurrected through dark magic, only to be transformed into a chimera by Thistle before eventually being restored to human form.

Relationships

She shares a close sibling bond with her brother, Laios Touden, with whom she shares a mutual fascination for monsters. Marcille Donato is her dearest friend since their academy days, possessing unwavering mutual trust. Though Shuro fell in love with her and proposed marriage, Falin Touden ultimately declined his offer amicably.

Trivia

During childhood, she frequently argued with her brother over what to name their pet dog. On one occasion, attempting to use cosmetics to conceal her facial blush unexpectedly gave her a frightening appearance to others.
