Overview

Zon is a character from Dungeon Meshi. He serves as the chieftain of an orc tribe living within the Golden Dungeon, leading his people with a pragmatic and honorable mindset to ensure their survival in a dangerous underground environment.

Appearance

Zon has dark skin, short brown hair, skin-covered horns, pointed ears, prominent lower tusks, and boar-like features. He possesses a muscular yet plump build with a broad waist and thick thighs. His body is covered in fur, including noticeable tufts on his chest and around his navel.

Personality

As chieftain, Zon possesses a strong sense of responsibility, putting the survival and safety of his tribe above all else. Historical conflicts with humans make him naturally wary of surface adventurers, but he remains an honorable figure who strictly upholds agreements. He is deeply devoted to his family, demonstrating strong protective instincts toward his younger sister Leed and his tribe members.

Background

Born and raised inside the Golden Dungeon, Zon grew up navigating the harsh underground ecosystem to sustain his tribe. As human presence and dangerous monsters squeezed the orcs' living spaces, he assumed leadership to secure food and defend their settlement. Over the course of the story, his interactions with Senshi—a long-time trading partner—and Laios Touden's exploration party gradually broaden his engagement with surface adventurers.

Relationships

Zon is the head of a large household that includes four wives, a son, a brother, and two younger sisters, one of whom is Leed. He has a long-established trading relationship with Senshi, exchanging dungeon produce and essential goods. Although initially guarded around Laios Touden and his companions, Zon eventually comes to form a mutually beneficial working relationship with them.

Trivia

Zon's favorite food is the Barometz (vegetable lamb), and he has no disliked foods. In the world of Dungeon Meshi, orcs are depicted as intelligent humanoids with boar-like features and skin-covered horns, maintaining their own distinct culture and social hierarchy within the dungeon.
