Overview
Long is a supporting character in the manga series Chainsaw Man. She is one of four female fiends who serve under the veteran Chinese devil hunter Quanxi, while simultaneously belonging to Quanxi's personal group of intimate companions. Characterized by the prominent horns on her head and her notably tall stature, Long functions as the primary frontline combatant among the group. Despite her rudimentary communication skills, she exhibits profound loyalty toward Quanxi and follows her faithfully during their missions.
Appearance
Long is a tall female fiend who stands out as the tallest individual among Quanxi's group of companions. Atop her head, she features a pair of horns that resemble those of the fiend Power. Her wrists are typically restricted by metal handcuffs, though she frequently snaps them off by hand whenever she prepares to fight.
Personality
Long exhibits a notable lack of human social norms and conventional understanding. Her crude behavior is illustrated when visiting a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, where she consumes the sushi together with the serving plates. True to her demonic nature, she holds a strong craving for blood. Her speech pattern is extremely limited, consisting almost entirely of single nouns such as blood or calling out Quanxi's name, yet she remains affectionate toward Quanxi.
Abilities
Long possesses the capability to breathe fire directly from her mouth, projecting intense flames at her targets. Because of this destructive pyrokinesis, she acts as the main offensive combat element among Quanxi's fiend companions. Additionally, she demonstrates superhuman physical strength, capable of effortlessly tearing apart the metal handcuffs bound around her wrists whenever engaging in combat.
Background
Long appears in Chainsaw Man as part of the quartet of female fiends under the care of Quanxi, alongside Pingtsi, Cosmo, and Tsugihagi. During the International Assassins arc, she travels to Japan with Quanxi to carry out their given targets. Throughout the arc, Long fights alongside Quanxi's faction, relying on her physical strength and flame abilities to defend her leader and companions.
Relationships
Long maintains a deeply devoted relationship with Quanxi, serving both as a loyal subordinate in battle and as one of Quanxi's romantic partners. She lives and fights alongside her fellow female fiends—Pingtsi, Cosmo, and Tsugihagi—who share the same affection from Quanxi, forming a close-knit group that operates together seamlessly.
Trivia
During the first official popularity poll, Long's name had not yet been disclosed in the narrative, leading to her being listed under the descriptive label Horned One. Her actual name was formally confirmed during the second popularity poll. Due to her fire-breathing ability, horns, and Chinese name representing the word for dragon, fans widely speculate that she is the Dragon Fiend.
