Appearance
The physical form of the Typhoon Devil manifests as a colossal storm composed of swirling brain tissue and viscera. The brain atop its central head is exposed and connects directly into the surrounding vortex. While a past incarnation seen in a flashback bore the face of an elderly man with a thick mustache, the incarnation featured in the main storyline bears the face of a giant baby. When unmanifested, it communicates through water fixtures such as sink drains.
Personality
Despite its capacity for massive destruction, the Typhoon Devil exhibits a surprisingly humble and deferential attitude toward those it views as superior. After Reze eliminated its former contractor, the devil willingly became her subordinate to compensate for interfering with her plans. It holds immense respect for Reze, enthusiastically announcing its presence and obeying her commands out of both reverence and self-preservation.
Abilities
It possesses the power to alter weather conditions to generate fierce hurricanes. Its wide-area destructive capacity can swallow buildings and entire towns, giving it one of the largest disaster footprints among devils outside of entities like the Gun Devil and Primal Fears. Furthermore, it can communicate remotely with contractors by utilizing household water outlets like sink drains.
Background
The Typhoon Devil originally formed a contract with a hitman targeting Denji. After Reze killed the assassin, the devil offered its services to her to make up for obstructing her operation, subsequently fighting against Chainsaw Man. In a flashback during the second part of the series, a previous incarnation of the Typhoon Devil is revealed to have caused the deaths of Asa Mitaka's parents.
Relationships
The Typhoon Devil treats Reze with high respect, serving as her loyal minion after she killed its former contractor, a mysterious assassin targeting Denji. It acts as a direct adversary to Denji during the confrontation in the Bomb Girl arc. Additionally, its prior incarnation shares a tragic connection with Asa Mitaka, having taken the lives of her parents in a past tragedy.
Trivia
According to official lore notes in the theatrical guide booklet for the Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc film, the Typhoon Devil is naturally far more powerful than demonstrated. Denji was only able to defeat it because the incarnation encountered during that arc was still in a developing, infant stage of growth.
