Pieck Finger

Overview

A prominent character in Attack on Titan, Pieck Finger is an Eldian serving in Marley's Warrior Unit as the inheritor of the Cart Titan. Possessing exceptional intelligence, sharp intuition, and outstanding judgment, she acts as a key strategist for her squad. Though she typically exhibits a relaxed and perpetually lethargic demeanor, she is a remarkably composed and adaptable fighter on the battlefield.

Appearance

Pieck is a young woman with long black hair and distinctively drowsy, half-lidded eyes. Her attire typically consists of a white long-sleeved shirt, jacket, and armband, though she later wears the uniform of the Survey Corps. Because she remains transformed for months at a time in her quadrupedal Cart Titan form, she struggles to walk upright upon returning to human form, often crawling on all fours or resting face down on couches. In battle, her Titan form is fitted with facial armor and heavy artillery turrets mounted on her back, and she frequently pops her upper body out of the Titan's nape to observe her surroundings.

Personality

Pieck is exceptionally calm, clear-headed, and observant. She has an approachable, warm personality with a caring big-sisterly warmth toward those around her. While she harbors no genuine loyalty toward the nation of Marley itself, she is fiercely dedicated to her fellow Eldian Warriors and the supporting troops who guard her back. Having joined the military to secure medical care for her father, her pragmatism and laid-back attitude are anchored by a profound devotion to her loved ones.

Abilities

As the Cart Titan, Pieck possesses extraordinary stamina, allowing her to stay transformed for months at a time. In critical situations, she can undergo rapid, consecutive transformations and swiftly eject herself from her Titan's nape. When equipped with back-mounted heavy artillery manned by a specialized crew, she delivers devastating long-range fire support. Her sharp mind also makes her adept at tactical analysis, deception, and reconnaissance.

Background

Pieck joined Marley's Warrior program to secure life-saving medical care for her ailing father, eventually earning the Cart Titan. During operations such as the battle at Wall Maria, she served in essential reconnaissance, supply transport, and rescue roles, repeatedly saving key allies from defeat. During subsequent conflicts, her tactical cunning was pivotal in counteracting surprise attacks. When the Rumbling threatened global destruction, she allied with former enemies to avert catastrophe. Following the eradication of Titan powers, she reunited with her father and became a UN ambassador striving for international peace and diplomatic representation.

Relationships

Zeke Yeager holds Pieck in high esteem, often praising her sharp intellect. She shares a close, casual bond with Porco Galliard, whom she teases with a relaxed familiarity. She maintains an exceptionally tight bond of trust with the five members of the Panzer Unit who operate the weaponry on her Titan's back. Additionally, she coordinates seamlessly with Commander Theo Magath and remains devoted to protecting her fellow Warriors, including Reiner Braun, Gabi Braun, and Falco Grice.

Trivia

In early draft concepts by creator Hajime Isayama, the inheritor of the Cart Titan was originally conceptualized as a middle-aged man resembling the Titan's facial features before being redesigned into her current look. A humorous conversation occurs when she is asked about personal hygiene after staying transformed for months, prompting her to retort that such remarks are impolite to a young woman. Her unique habit of leaning her upper body out of the Titan's nape to chat has led fans to fondly compare the visual to riding in a convertible.
