Sasha Blouse is a key character in the manga and anime series Attack on Titan. Hailing from Dauper Village, a hunting community in the southern district of Wall Rose, she joined the 104th Training Cadet Corps, graduating ranked ninth in her class before enlisting in the Survey Corps. Exceptional instincts and physical agility honed from her background as a hunter make her a reliable soldier, despite her eccentric personality. Defined by her insatiable appetite and obsession with food, she is frequently regarded as a comic relief figure among her peers.

Appearance

Sasha features dark brown hair worn in a messy ponytail with loose strands framing her face, paired with brown eyes. Her default attire is the standard Paradis military uniform, consisting of a jacket and shirt. At age 16, her height is recorded at 168 cm with a weight of 55 kg, which later increases to 173 cm and 61 kg by age 20 during the Marley arc.

Personality

Sasha possesses an unbound, carefree personality, though she consistently addresses everyone in formal speech to hide her rustic home accent. Driven by a intense instinct for survival, her obsession with food leads her to routinely sneak hot potatoes or meat from military storage, earning her a reputation for unyielding greed when it comes to eating. Though easily frightened, she is deeply empathetic toward those weaker than herself and demonstrates courage in crucial moments.

Abilities

Having been raised in a hunting tradition, Sasha possesses an extraordinary sense of hearing that allows her to detect approaching Titans earlier than others. She exhibits formidable skill with a bow and arrow, capable of neutralizing a Titan even without maneuver gear. Her marksmanship seamlessly translated to firearms, establishing her as an exceptionally accurate sniper using a rifle in later engagements.

Background

Raised in a traditional hunting village, Sasha joined the military after facing arguments with her father over changing traditions and realizing her own limited worldview. On her first day of initiation, she infamously ate a stolen hot potato in front of her instructor, earning the nickname 'Potato Girl.' She went on to serve in critical combat operations with the Survey Corps. During the retreat from the raid on Liberio, she was fatally shot on the airship by Gabi Braun.

Relationships

Sasha holds immense fear toward her training instructor, Keith Shadis. She shares a close, lighthearted friendship with her fellow graduate Connie Springer, and frequently receives food from Mikasa Ackerman. She forged a meaningful romantic bond with Niccolo, a captured Marleyan chef who appreciated her passionate love for his cooking. Furthermore, she became an inspirational figure to Kaya, a young girl whose life she saved from a Titan.

Trivia

In the initial drafting of the story, Sasha was intended to die during her solitary battle against a Titan in volume 9. However, the author decided to spare her, feeling she deserved a more fitting moment later in the narrative. Her very last spoken word before passing away was 'meat.'
