Vodka

Overview

Vodka is an executive member of the Black Organization in Detective Conan. Appearing from the very beginning of the series alongside Gin, he serves as a central target in Shinichi Kudo's efforts to uncover the syndicate. Operating primary as Gin's trusted assistant, he is frequently tasked with carrying out field operations, illegal transactions, and covert assignments.

Appearance

Vodka is a heavily built man with a prominent underbite and a square jawline. He is consistently seen wearing a black fedora and dark sunglasses that conceal his true facial features. His attire consists of a jet-black suit—including black jacket and pants—paired with a dark red dress shirt underneath.

Personality

While cold-hearted in his criminal dealings, Vodka exhibits a surprisingly pragmatic and considerate side toward fellow members, often smoothing over internal tensions. He is deeply loyal to Gin, addressing him respectfully as a senior, though he is not entirely devoid of his own perspective. Despite his intimidating demeanor, his careless nature occasionally leads to reckless oversights during missions.

Abilities

Vodka demonstrates notable technical capability, including high-level IT knowledge such as programming software that wipes data and tracks locations within seconds. He is skilled at operating various vehicles, ranging from cars and motorcycles to armed helicopters. Additionally, he possesses an exceptional memory regarding past targets and internal organization details, effectively complementing Gin's disposition.

Background

As an established executive of the Black Organization, Vodka handles a wide variety of covert transactions. He was directly involved in the initial amusement park blackmail incident that led to Shinichi Kudo being transformed into a child. Alias records suggest the name Saburo Uozuka, and he routinely inherits pending operational handoffs from fallen members like Tequila.

Relationships

Vodka maintains a close working relationship with Gin, acting as his primary driver in his iconic Porsche 356A and assisting his commands, though his occasional blunders draw Gin's severe wrath. He interacts on equal terms with code-named peers such as Chianti and Korn, while holding a wary attitude toward overly ambitious rogue operatives like Pinga.

Trivia

According to the original author, Vodka's role was envisioned as a Watson-like figure within the Black Organization, serving as a foil to emphasize Gin's sharp and ruthless nature.
