Admire Vega

Overview

Admire Vega is a character from the Umamusume: Pretty Derby franchise, including the anime series Umamusume: Pretty Derby ROAD TO THE TOP. Inspired by the real-life racehorse of the same name, she is a student in Tracen Academy's High School division residing in the Rittou Dormitory. Characterized by her solitary demeanor and fierce dedication to training, she maintains a strict, self-reliant attitude on her path toward victory in the Twinkle Series.

Appearance

Admire Vega features long brown hair tied in a low ponytail with hair strands falling between her eyes, paired with purple eyes. As a horse girl, she possesses horse ears and a horse tail, wearing a cover over a single ear. Her lower attire incorporates black pantyhose alongside short ankle boots.

Personality

Admire Vega possesses a stoic, reserved demeanor, frequently pushing away those who try to get close to her. Driven by a lingering burden from her past, she approaches her training with intense, almost self-sacrificing gravity. Despite her cold exterior, she holds a romantic fondness for astronomy and planetariums. She also harbors a passionate obsession with extremely soft, fluffy items, routinely assessing the fluffiness of slippers and bedding.

Abilities

In races, Admire Vega excels as a chaser, relying on a powerful final stretch burst to overtake opponents. Prior to a race, she tightens her fists with enough force to cause slight discomfort to focus her resolve. Additionally, she demonstrates high tolerance to cold weather and excels at oral reading.

Background

Carrying a deep-seated guilt from her early life, Admire Vega enters competitions as if seeking atonement. She captures a prestigious victory in the Japanese Derby, but the heavy toll of intense training and fierce competition leads to severe leg issues. Though initially driven to push past her physical limits out of self-reproach, her interactions with her rivals eventually allow her to process her burden and commit to rehabilitation.

Relationships

She shares a high-spirited rivalry with her classmate T.M. Opera O, who constantly forces her into dramatic situations. Narita Top Road stands as another major rival whose earnest sportsmanship gradually influences Admire Vega's outlook. At the dorms, she is roommates with Curren Chan, who often manages Admire Vega's eccentricities with lighthearted firmness.

Trivia

She unconsciously clutches her own tail while sleeping and has a reflex where her ears twitch upon hearing the word for elder sister. Every year on her birthday, she makes a point to prepare two birthday cakes. When writing, her handwriting noticeably slants downward to the right, and she has specific preferences regarding which bakery to visit depending on the type of bread.
