A member of Team Spica at Tracen Academy, she is depicted as a cheerful, highly energetic horse girl who loves traditional Japanese festivals.
Appearance
Kitasan Black features dark bay hair styled in an airy bob with an ahoge, bangs with a white blaze, and striking bright red eyes. Her hair is tied in two side tails embellished with flower-diamond ornaments and traditional cord ribbons, with the right ear functioning as her motif ornament. Her main racing outfit, Gilded Shrine to Glory, takes inspiration from a festival happi coat; it is a sleeveless attire with black, ochre, white, red, and gold accents. She also wears alternative racing outfits, including a white New Year costume and a special retirement race attire.
Personality
Extremely bright, active, and helpful, Kitasan Black is a friendly person who cannot ignore anyone in distress. She is defined by her generous nature and willingness to take on any challenge, though she occasionally lapses into a rough Edo dialect when thrilled or determined. Raised in a large family with an enka singer father, she habitually sings with a distinct vocal vibrato. She also possesses a sweet tooth, often eating sugar candies like konpeito non-stop once she starts.
Abilities
Possessing exceptional physical endurance and a robust constitution, Kitasan Black excels at front-running and pace-setting tactics, particularly in long-distance races. Her innate durability allows her to endure rigorous training regimes. In addition to her racing talents, she displays remarkable tail strength capable of lifting heavy objects, possesses an acute sense of pitch, and is skilled at massage and character impressions.
Background
Kitasan Black grew up in a lively household alongside her father, his apprentices, and her younger brother. After witnessing the brilliant performances of Tokai Teio during her childhood, she became determined to follow in her footsteps and enrolled at Tracen Academy. Undergoing a dramatic growth spurt before entering middle school, she quickly developed into a tall and formidable racer, striving to bring joy to crowds through her passionate racing style.
Relationships
Satono Diamond is her childhood friend, roommate, and ultimate rival, sharing an unbreakable bond with her. She holds deep admiration for Tokai Teio, viewing her as her ultimate role model. Her inner circle also includes her longtime childhood friend Copano Rickey, while her key racing rivals include Duramente, Satono Crown, Cheval Grand, and Sounds of Earth.
Trivia
Before a race, she checks her voice by shouting 'Wasshoi!'. Her design and festival motif pay homage to traditional Japanese culture and enka music, reflecting the real-life background of her horse's owner, Saburo Kitajima. In the mobile game, her early SSR Speed support card became famous among the player community for its exceptionally powerful gameplay stats.
