Overview
Rudy Lemono is a character from the manga and anime series Umamusume: Cinderella Gray. As a horse girl attending Kasamatsu Tracen Academy, she belongs to a close-knit group commonly referred to as the "Three Idiots," alongside her lifelong childhood friends Norn Ace and Minnie the Lady. Although she presents an intimidating exterior accompanied by somewhat rough and coarse language, she stands out as the most sensible and clear-headed member among her peers, frequently acting as the voice of reason.
Appearance
She is a horse girl with long, flipped flaxen-blonde hair, horse ears, and a horse tail, presenting a somewhat rough and intimidating visual impression. Her standard outfit consists of an unbuttoned blue letterman jacket worn over a white shirt, complemented by a red neckerchief tied around her neck and a grey pleated skirt.
Personality
Although her rough demeanor and speech give off a delinquent impression, she possesses a remarkably sensible and reasonable nature. She is soft-hearted toward her inner circle and naturally considerate of others. Among her trio, she functions as a natural brake, cringing and holding back her friends whenever Norn Ace or Minnie the Lady attempt over-the-top pranks or deliberate sabotage against Oguri Cap. Beneath her hard exterior, she is genuinely thoughtful and loyal.
Abilities
As a horse girl at Kasamatsu Tracen Academy, she possesses the physical capabilities required for competitive racing. Outside of her athletic training, she has practiced calligraphy since five years of age, giving her exceptionally fine handwriting skills, though her drawing ability is notoriously terrible. Additionally, she holds a driver's license and is capable of operating an automobile.
Background
Rudy has been inseparable from Norn Ace and Minnie the Lady since elementary school, with the three later enrolling together at Kasamatsu Tracen Academy. While initially dragged along by her friends' antagonistic attitude toward Oguri Cap, she hesitated to fully endorse their unfair tricks. Following Norn's defeat in a race, the group reconsidered their actions and grew close to Oguri Cap, supporting her continuously and even mailing local persimmons and regional rice after her transfer to Central Tracen Academy.
Relationships
She maintains an unbreakable friendship with Norn Ace and Minnie the Lady, having spent her childhood and academy days constantly by their side. Although initially acting as part of an antagonistic faction against Oguri Cap, Rudy eventually formed a genuine friendship with her, staying in contact and sending care packages long after Oguri Cap's departure for Central Tracen Academy.
Trivia
Because her flaxen (palomino) coat color does not occur in thoroughbred horses, fans often speculate that her character design references Arab horse bloodlines. Her family operates a traditional kimono shop, which aligns with her long-standing calligraphy background. She was featured alongside her friends on a special cover for Volume 7 of the manga, where the back cover depicted her in chibi form enjoying a hamburger.
